Thoughts on all inclusive LOCAL vendor packages

Ashley, on April 30, 2016 at 11:18 AM Posted in Planning 0 6

Hello fellow brides! I am planning my wedding and I can't help but feel there is an element missing in the wedding industry. So many of my friends have become so overwhelmed with the amount of vendors to research, hire, and keep track of, and then you can't see how its all going to add up in your budget until it is too late. Now that I am planning my own wedding, I can see exactly why they have been so stressed out! Smiley smile There are wedding planners that can help you put something together, then there are all inclusive destination weddings, and then there are some venues that include more then others. But I have not seen anything out there for complete all inclusive package options (photographer, dj, venue, catering, flowers, hair, tuxes, officiant, cake, etc), while still allowing for substitutions and customization. Just curious if my fellow brides also feel this is a need in the industry for time conscious or budget savvy brides or if it is just me! Thought

My venue is a semi all inclusive. They provide catering done at the venue, floral, linens, dj, officiant, hotel room for bride and groom the night of the wedding, limo for the bridal party, and all the clean up and set up. They also have bartender for open bar, security, and wedding cake. They have us a list of vendors they work with for photography and hair and makeup but we're welcome to use our own. I'm glad we went with the venue we did. I don't know if ibwould have enjoyed wedding planning at all If I had to find all these people on my own. I give major props to the brides that do have to find their own vendors

In all honesty, I wouldn't be interested in something like that one bit. While planning and coordinating all of your vendors can be stressful, I think it's better to be able to add your own personal touches rather than being told "you have to go with XYZ vendors because they're in our package..."

@fabiana ours does the same and we couldn't be more happy. We choose hair and makeup and photography from their vendors based on our styles and everything else is pretty standard. We choose the flowers for the florist, we choose the meal, we choose the dj and music from their list but it's so much easier to work with our coordinator than make 1937 calls and keep a binder.

Anything extra we bring in like personalized decor they will set up for us. We honestly don't need it because the place is beautiful and I don't believe those items are important to us in the grand scheme of things.

I'm also planning my wedding, along with the help of family and friends. It can be stressful at times, but you have to take a break from time to time. My budget is small so we decided to have it in the backyard of the building where we live. Something simply. Good luck.

In my area there are more all inclusive or semi- inclusive than not. Most places will let you customize it to your own taste (or you just tell them what you want and they already have it) or use your own DJ's, cake baker, etc. My venue covers everything but still allows you to bring your own DJ's, decorators, bakers, florists. Th only thing they don't allow you to sub out is catering/liquor due to licensing issues in the past; Uncle John may make a great hotty toddy but if he doesn't have a bar license then your venue owners can get into some major trouble!

I'm letting her do all of the decorations and coordination, but she is asking me what I like. She doesn't just do what she wants. The only things that I really went outside to get are the DJ, photographer, and cake baker. IMO this has been so MUCH easier than just renting a place and looking for 10-15 vendors t actually make a wedding happen.

I guess I'm rare but I really don't see what is super stressful about planning a wedding. Maybe it's because I'm having a year and a half engagement and I do things a little at a time but it's really not that bad. We had all of our vendors booked by a year out and that wasn't hard at all. It just took a few phone calls and meetings and it was done.
