Thoughts on a "sheer" wedding dress

The corset bodice ones similar to the ones that you posted and the Pnina's that were big a few years back I think look tacky, trashy and are going to be terribly dated when any one looks back at pictures. I have never liked them, There are tasteful and stylish ways to do sheer in wedding gowns but that style is not the way IMO.

Mine is sheer, but I'm having the front lined, and leaving the back open. I want to feel covered and comfortable without the judgement that people I've never met thinking I'm trashy.

Thank you all for your honesty! I have not tried on dresses yet (Procrastinator here) but I saw the sheer look (Panina) & though how different that was. FH & I won't be doing a church wedding so that part won't be an issue. I do hope to find something different to wear on my wedding day but without the "she is trying hard" look. Lol.. again thanks & I'll keep you all updated. <3

That particular dress is the most unflattering ugly ass thing I've ever seen. Sorry.

In general, I love the sheer trend. I think there are so many tasteful and trendy sheer dresses. This is not one of them.

This is as crazy as I'm getting with a "sheer" dress haha. This is a picture of the back of mine. I agree with PPs, there are much more tasteful dresses out there.

I don't necessarily think the fact it's NOT in a church solves the issue. I think there's a tasteful way to do sheer (that morilee is stunning), and the original dress is not it.

Sheer wedding dresses can be beautiful... Especially the Pnina Tornai ones. But this one in particular is not pretty...

I am a believer in subtle sexy always tops overtly sexy. Too each their own though.

If you can pull it off, then I say do it. I don't particularly care for the one you posted, but I've seen several on SYTTD that are beautiful and tasteful.

One thing you might look into if you want this look but a little more....classy...and less lingerie looking is to look into the dresses that are separates. The ones with the tulle skirt and a bit of a crop top....I've attached a pic of an example.
