Thoughts on a "sheer" wedding dress

Hi ladies!! I'm new & newly engaged!! I was wondering what your thoughts on a "sheer" wedding dress are. I love them & think they are very stylish & sexy! I can't help but to like the dress idea but also doubt it at the same time.. HELP! (Picture for example)

I'm not a fan. Personally I think it's raunchy. It would be pretty as lingerie though

I personally feel that sheer dresses can be worn and look gorgeous if done right. I would never wear a shear dress simply because I would never feel comfortable wearing something that is a little showy in front of all of my family and friends. My goal with my dress was to have a sense of elegance. But ultimately it's your day and you should be wearing something that makes you feel beautiful!

I personally would never wear something like that. I just don't feel it's appropriate to show off your body like that in front of family and friends on your wedding day. But your cup of tea may be different than mine!

I've seen some beautiful dresses that have illusion backs. Perhaps if you like the look, but are a bit apprehensive, you could go with an illusion back, which would give you a similar vibe in a more toned down way.

They also make some dresses (I saw it on a user here) that have those cut outs, but they come with a modesty panel for the front, so the sides and back are still sheer, but again, the front is covered for a slightly more modest look.

I'd wear this one, if I wanted all of my wedding pics with a can of natty light in one hand and a cigarette in the other. Sorry, idk there's something just so trashy about this particular choice. I've seen some that are pretty. This is definitely not that.

I think almost all of them are trashy and inappropriate. There are much classier ways to look sexy, if you want sexy.

Some are tasteful., others not. I'm personally not a fan of that one you posted

I tried on a Demitrios gown the other day, it was beautiful fit but when I saw how sheer it was and revealing in the mirror it was a no go. Everyone has different taste levels if you want to rock one I say go for it.

This doesn't look like a semi sheer gown. This gown looks like they lost funding and stopped making it half way though.

Some gowns have tasteful shear panels and boning. This. Isn't it.

It's honestly your taste, but I don't necessarily think they scream wedding elegance.

I don't think they're necessarily inappropriate. I just don't like them, regardless of how classy/tasteful they are. I think they look ridiculous TBH.

I personally don't like them. I think they are a little too much for a wedding day. The one you posted reminds me of lingerie. I would be so uncomfortable in front family.

I think it's entirely up to the person/venue. Personally, I'm not a fan. But then again, I'm pretty conservative. (I can't even wear a strapless dress without feeling uncomfortable hehe). It's not about me though, you do you OP! Wear what you would feel comfortable in.

Hi! So I'm not sure what your style is but I saw your post earlier and thought maybe to post this pic for you consider. I think sheer wedding dresses can be sexy and still classy at the same time (: maybe this will help for some inspo? Good luck& remember it's all about YOU feeling beautiful. It's your day!(:

That's a big no. Looks like you're desperate for attention, which you already will have being the bride.

It's your day, but I'd think of parents and family members, and potential future children if you have any and show them pictures someday.

I would say save the sheer look for the honeymoon.

ETA: Most of WW says no, so that's probably what your guests would say, too.

My dress actually has sheer/lace panels at the waist, so I definitely think there is a way to do it tastefully, but this dress just looks like cheap lingerie. Super unattractive, imo.

Depends on your family and venue if it's appropriate.
