Hi ladies! What are your real thoughts on Davids’s Bridal quality, style, price vs that of boutiques? I’m not a snob by all means but I don’t have much experience shopping for bridal gowns. Hi ladies! What are your real thoughts on Davids’s Bridal quality, style, price vs that of boutiques? I’m not a snob by all means but I don’t have much experience shopping for bridal gowns.

I didn’t expect this but I almost walked away with an Oleg Cassini Ball Gown for $1850 (didn’t realize it was on sale for $1450) I didn’t want to say yes yet because it was the first shop I went to and was unsure since this was such a traditional style unlike all the other gowns I’ve pinned or liked. I know I can’t afford Lazaro or Berta that’s very modern and romantic looking with the sheer bodices, plunging necklines and 3D appliqués.

My wedding planner told me to hold off on a gown and that for the $1850 price tag, I can definitely find one as glamorous with better quality at a smaller store. If it weren’t the fact that they were closing, I have a feeling I would have tried on the gown again and bought it. My planner said that David’s known for cheap prices but also pressuring brides to buy that day. She says that I’ll get more attention with champagne and won’t be pushed to buy if I go to another store.

Thoughts? Experience? My budget is $2000 but ofcourse less is good too. This dress is lovely and I can see myself walking down the aisle with it but open to new things. I also was under the assumption that David’s sold dresses at around $800.

Haha 😂 I almost spontaneously bought one but it was closing time and the management wanted to go home.

Sales associates that listen, helpful and are thoughtful build a trust with brides. Loved the one I worked with when I bought my gown.

Yes, location and staff really do make all the difference. And they did file for bankruptcy, but it really isn't making too much of a difference.

I LOVE your dress, by the way!! It's GORGEOUS!

My sister had a terrible experience at DB. So I didnt go there at all. I went to a wedding shoppe that's pretty well known in minneapolis. Not to say that DB is bad, but my sister did feel very pressured and also said she had a hard time finding something she liked. It doesn't hurt to try DB though. I'm just kinda sensitive and I hate feeling pressured

I honestly hate David's Bridal, not because I'm snobby about where the dress comes from but I've had a few experiences and they were ALL bad. My first experience was actually prom dress shopping in 2003. They were rude and pushy. That really bugged me so I went to Dillard's instead.

Fast forward to 2008, I was ONLY along for moral support for my SIL. They tried to badger me into buying a dress and I wasn't even in the wedding. So again, rude and pushy.

In 2017, I was supposed to be a bridesmaid. We went for a our appointment and they shoved me and the flower girl in the same tiny fitting room. As if that wasn't bad enough, the dress they put on me was falling off so they wanted to order one size down. Come to find out, the sample dress was terribly stretched. Thankfully, I did not order one size down. Fast forward again, the wedding ended up not happening and now I am stuck with a hot pink dress that CANNOT be returned under any circumstances and wasn't even on sale. I recently tried it on, thinking I'd wear it to my cousin's wedding. The zipper got stuck and I thought I was going to have wear that ugly thing for the rest of my life. Also, despite having only had the dress on for maybe a total of 10 minutes, the sheer material overlay isn't holding and all it does is sit in the back of the closet.
