Thoughts? Allure wedding dress hasn’t shipped...

Kelsie, on February 6, 2018 at 4:25 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 19
Hey!

Ok I could use some advice. I bought my gown in early May of last year. It. Still. Hasn’t. Shipped.

Ive been in touch with the bridal salon (great little local place) I purchased from, and I’ve been told it is produced but Allure is dealing with shipping delays.

Despite reassurances from the salon, I’m pretty nervous something went wrong....but that’s a rabbit hole I don’t want to go down lol

My wedding is 10/5/18- I bought my dress super early on purpose for planning purposes so while we aren’t cutting it close just yet, I am still pretty frustrated it isn’t in yet.

I’m really tempted to call Allure’s customer service line- is it just me, or is a 9 month wait from a major bridal company a bit ridiculous?

Personally I would reach out, WAY too important to leave to chance. And I think most designers are supposed to take 6 months AT MOST.

Right?!?! Now if only I can figure out how! They don’t have any customer service information listed on their site as far as I’ve seen! Ughhhhhh 😑

That's weird. I bought an Allure dress in November, and I got a call from the bridal salon last week saying that it is in already (a month ahead of schedule). You should definitely check up on that.

When did they say it would ship and be delivered when you ordered?

I ordered in May and was told to expect it in 5 months time- allure’s website says they have a 12-20 week ship time, so I was anticipating my dress would be in around the holidays. After I called my salon in the beginning of January they told me to expect it in the first week of February and today they told me that it still hasn’t shipped. I’m now partially worried because if there is an issue (god forbid) I won’t have much of a timeline to work with to fix it.

A dress can take 6-9 months to make....if the bridal salon has told you that they are having shipping delays then I would assume that they have spoken to Allure. You could try and call the company to verify the info and then go from there.

Mine wasn't an Allure gown, but I also ordered mine in early May and it just got here last week. Hopefully it is just a shipping delay and they get it to you in the next few weeks.

That seems like a long time. I would call and email about it to see what’s going on.

That seems like a pretty long time. I ordered my Allure in the middle of April and it was delivered in the beginning of August.
I would call their customer service if I were you! Definitely not something to leave up in the air. Hopefully they can at least give you a solid ship date.

I ordered my Allure gown mid-October and I just got the call today that it is in! I would assume that you could probably call a Allure directly and just inquire about your order or style number specifically.

I’m thinking it didn’t get ordered on time and they are now scrambling. Really hoping that isn’t the case. May - Feb with no end in sight is odd.

I’ve also read and have been told by my bridal salon that dresses can take 6-9 months. It’s possible that your dress was deprioritized on the production end because of your date. Fingers crossed that you’ll get a call from the salon soon!

A little shocked. I bought my Allure dress in June, a month after you, and I received it 5 months later in November. I would definitely start looking into what's going on with them.

I ordered my Kenneth Winston dress in March of last year and it came in December. They said I would get it in September. I also ordered it pretty early (my wedding is in June) and got annoyed when it wasn’t in when they said it would be. If they know your wedding date is more than 9 months out, it’s apparently not uncommon for them to put your dress on the back burner, unfortunately.

I ordered my dress in July and the salon I went to actually put in a ship out date for April and said the dress should be there in May for my first fitting.

In your case though I would call allure personally.

I got an allure dress too!! Smiley smile

I used to work in the bridal industry and 8-10 months for your dress to be made and come in is fairly standard. (depending on the style, details, and where it's coming from)

It doesn't hurt to call their customer service department though. Smiley smile

That's insane! I bought a Mori Lee and it literally took a month to come in, although they told me six months. I ordered mine about 8.5 months out, so if that had happened to me I'd be walking down the aisle naked (not really lol). I'm not sure what you can do at this point but for me, it would definitely involve contacting Allure, seeing if I can cancel/reorder, a plan B : /

Did it come in time?! I am in the exact same situation with my allure dress, I ordered in April and was told it would be in by August. When August came around the salon said it was set to ship in two weeks, still nothing. Now they are saying it hasn’t even left CHINA to go to the warehouse in Tennessee where it will be sent to the bridal salon in cinicinati where I bought it. Supposedly it is supposed to be at the warehouse on 10/1 but I’m not sure how I could possibly believe that when no other time frame has been met.
FYI... I am getting married on 10/20 and live in AZ where the dress will then have to be sent to me after it makes its stop at the salon Smiley sad I’m so worried and literally have no idea what to do!!
We’re you ever able to get ahold of allure in any way??
