Those of you doing 3 cylinder centerpieces with a mirror beneath

Virginia, on September 19, 2019 at 10:49 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 2 8

What size mirror are you using? What is the width?

How big are you cylinders? I'm doing a wood piece beneath my wine bottle and lantern - i'm aiming for about 9in diameter. approx the length of my forearm.

Their heights are 9", 7.5", and 6" and 3.37" wide.

Those are going to look lovely! I would say stick with nothing smaller than 10in diameter. that gives you some room to space them out. are you putting anything else on the mirror? I like to buy like two sizes of things i'm stuck between and then set them up at home and see which i like. then exchange the one you don't use for the size you like!

I haven't ordered my mirrors yet, but I think they are either 9" or 10". I guess I never really thought about it until you brought it up. I was thinking of it like the size of a standard round cake pan. LOL I'm a baker!! But I believe that's 9" inches.

What, if anything, are you putting in the cylinders? For mine, I'm putting the colored stones in the bottom (purple), filled with water, with a floating candle on top. I'm still toying with the idea of some greenery around the base, but I'm not sure. I'll be getting a few supplies this weekend to make a mock-up, and decide what looks best.

Yes, I'm envisioning my centerpieces to be most like your first link, with the three candles at different heights. I'm going back and forth on whether I want the pillar candles nestled into the beads, like the link shows, or to add water and have a floating candle on top. I suppose I'll have to mock up both looks before I decide. But for me, simple is the way to go.
