We had a day of coordinator, but full planners around where I live start around $5,000 and we couldn’t fit that into our budget. Our day of coordinator helped with our timeline and then ran point on the day of to ensure everything started on time, all our vendors had what they needed and were ready to go, and she made sure that the wedding party and us had everything we needed for drinks and food.

I also hired a day-of coordinator but she’s been awesome about getting vendor info to me when I’m stuck on an idea for the wedding. I like to bounce ideas off of her... get her thoughts on my wedding vision! She’s an unbiased and honest opinion about what I have so far... and I enjoy it. We’re actually suppose to have a short phone call today for further updates.

I LOVE my planner! Honestly, just knowing she is there to help is amazing. She has made sure we are doing what we need to with a reasonable time frame, does all our contract reviews, sets appointments, gives vendor suggestions, and is there for all of my questions! totally worth it in my opinion

I am doing my own planning. Loving having the time to focus on the details and do my own research. I also went into this knowing the basics of what my FH and I do and do not want so that has simplified things. I am on the fence about hiring a day-of-coordinator but I know my mom is more than capable and will tell me to save my money. She works as a construction project manager and is a planning whiz so I will probably leave it to her.

Our caterer included a wedding planner for an up charge that was way cheaper compared to hiring one separately, so we went with that. It’s nice knowing that she’s with them and will be in charge of our biggest things like food and venue design, which was also part of our catering package. See what other services your vendors offer, it’s often cheaper than hiring everyone separately!

Hi Liz, thank you for the great tip of seeing if my vendors offer other services besides doing everything separately!

I hired a day of coordinator and they have a planning portal to help with planning. If you can factor a planner into your budget I would 100% do this!

My venue includes a day of coordinator and three meetings with their coordinator 4 months, 6 weeks, and 10 days before the wedding as well as the coordinator for the rehearsal.

I am feeling grateful for that! I would have hired one if they didn't provide. I want less stress when my life / work is already stressful!

I am going all inclusive with the venue, so the only outside things I need too coordinate are alcohol, hair & make up, and photography. The one thing I've heard consistently from friends is to at least hire a day-of-coordinator. They have said that it was great to have someone else watching the clock so the guests could enjoy the event, and one used her to help keep her MIL at bay. The MIL had a lot of opinions, so they they let the day-of be the "bad guy" and tell her no to things that she thought they should be doing during the wedding.

I hired a Month-Of coordinator. I like it more than full planning services because I will be doing the planning myself but wanted help outside of just the day-of coordinating services. Then I found this godsend of a coordinator with a reasonable Month-of package. So she will begin coordinating my wedding about 6 weeks out from the event and will become the point person for all of my vendors. This way I won't be bombarded with phone calls, emails, and stress all the way up until the day of!
