This would have been my wedding month, sad post

Shirley, on November 1, 2020 at 4:15 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 5

My Plan A wedding date is a week from yesterday, and I am feeling so down that we can't have it. Our plans B-F fell through as well, so we aren't planning any wedding at all right now because the pandemic has really complicated our lives and the ability of even just our immediate family to attend. I have nothing to look forward to and I just want to be married and I'm just sad.

Anyone else have experience getting over covid rescheduling blues?

One thing that helped me was planning something fun for my original date! I strongly suggest it - you could plan a weekend getaway for you and your fiance, or a date night out, or a small get-together with friends, or even a themed movie night in! You could also purchase a mini cake from your cake baker for you and your fiance to share on your original date. Or you could schedule another engagement photo shoot with your photographer. Or you could put together a gift basket for your fiance to acknowledge your original date. By having something special planned, you'll have something to look forward to, instead of dreading the original date.

We have a fun dinner planned because our original date was also the anniversary of our first date. But I like the idea of a photo shoot too -- we had a nice engagement shoot before, but it was as we were cancelling our wedding, and I don't have great memories of it. I just hope my FH isn't too sad, he has really taken all of this hard

For me, it was a blessing in disguise. It gave us more time to save and prepare for our future. Many ppl on this platform have had original wedding day blues, it's not uncommon. Focus on the positives with marrying your best friend in the future 💞💞💞💞💞

Yes, Lisa has some great ideas. I feel for you. I can't remember how many times we've rescheduled. I think April 2021 will make our 5th attempt? I lose count. I try to think of the positive and downplay the negative. We are eloping, just the two of us, with a larger fall 2021 reception. Just remember the old saying "Good things come to those who wait." Best wishes!! ❤
