This wedding planning is driving me crazy.

Sophia, on April 5, 2015 at 10:30 PM Posted in Planning 0 19

The whole wedding planning process is driving me nuts. I have nightmares and anxiety attacks. Am I alone?

How are you guys doing?

Yep!! Me too! It's fun getting all the pretty decorations and everything, but I'm so nervous that I'm gonna mess something up or something like that...LOL!!

I had a HUGE panic attack when I first started planning as everything just seemed so overwhelming, but the more we figured stuff out and not trying to do everything at once helped me to calm down.

I still have wedding nightmares every so often, and I think most brides suffer from them lol

I'm not going to let it happen to me. I had a really bad panic attack way back in the beginning. I swore it off that I would ever let that happen to me again. So far/so good. Yesterday, during an Easter gathering of family and friends, wedding talk would come up from time to time with people asking me how things are going, commenting that "things must be getting crazy now" with the wedding in 6 months - I was so nonchalant about it and finally blurted out, "look people, its not that crazy, THIS IS NOT GOING TO BE A PINTEREST WEDDING, haha. We've got our dj, awesome high end meal creations, open bar, and love. Whats to stress over? Come celebrate with us." That's my mentality these days. Just turn the channel. Don't let it get to you.

You aren't the only one- I had a breakdown over money this weekend. We've (mostly me) had a lot of unexpected expenses which may have to come out of our wedding savings or at least slow down putting the rest of the money away for the wedding. I felt like we were in a good place money-wise and then BOOM, lots of extra shit. So no, you aren't alone by any means.

I'm getting frazzled now. I feel like there is no time left, but still so much to do. I'm with Sophia. I'll relax on my honeymoon.

Nope. I hate it. Every single part of this has been miserable and a cluster fuck. Not looking forward to anyyy of it, dreading most of it, and really wishing we had eloped on a nice wedding-moon and saved ourselves all this money for a day that people do not give one fuck about, for the most part. Every single day I think about this.

I'm in the same spot... I was having serious panic attacks about two weeks ago. I have a lot of other stuff going on, so it wasn't all wedding stuff, but it definitely doesn't help. I have not enjoyed the planning process AT ALL. I pretty much second everything JK said.

I hate all of it. We got engaged in December and I envy all of those people who " love planning their wedding". We can't find a venue that we like & can afford, we haven't settled on a date ( thought we had, apparently we haven't), oh and did I mention our entire savings just went to buying a new A/C unit for our house we bough only 8 months ago? FML and this just in, our water system in our house is acting up and we're on a well.

Oh and i've already managed to make my mother cry.

I love wedding planning! I have had a little stress, but mostly over money and budget. I am a big planner and very organized so I feel pretty good about it all. I only had one breakdown over it and I think that was hormone induced...lol

I'm over it. Pretty much every other day I tell my fiance the wedding is off (the wedding, not the marriage). It just makes people crazy. We can't even talk to our mothers right now and I feel like every decision I make is going to cause a huge fight!

I can't say it was the best part of my life. At the beginning I was stressed and overwhelmed by thinking instead of acting. Then I realized that my stress is caused by the unexpected, many tasks to deal with and the chaos in my head. So ... I found my solution since I love checklist and to-do-lists (they keep me secure and make me feel more confident and organized) . I made a wedding planning timeline for me, so after all, with soMe improvements, I decided to spread.

I hope it will be quite useful (as it was for me) and decrease the stress. Good luck Smiley winking

oh, I forgot, here it is: http://bestgiftidea.net/wedding-planning-timeline/

p.s. a glass of wine is a good solution Smiley winking
