thinking of leaving hair down for ceremony and then a quick up-do for the reception?

avery, on June 23, 2011 at 7:11 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5

I'm sure there is posts close to this, I'm sorry I am just to lazy to look ! My FH likes my hair long, he really likes it straight. I have a strapless dress and am getting married memorial weekend, outside ceremony. The reception is inside/outside but no AC. I am in OH so I also have to work with humidity! I get really hot, and I normally can not wear my hair down for more than a couple of hours. Do you think people will think I am being a "Diva" ? This is my third marriage but my first "big" wedding. I was thinking of a up-do that will only take like 15 minutes to do? Of course it is if my hairdresser is willing to help me with a quick up-do.

I have really long straight hair. I'm having it down for the ceremony and then I'm going to put it up in a bun myself for the reception. If your hairdresser can do it quickly, or you can do it quickly, I'd say it should be fine. I'm doing the hair change because I can't dance properly with my hair down to my knees and loose.

Oh man just listening to your question made feel icky lol i hate sweating and humididty and add long striaght hair thats down!!!??? i would only want to be in that situation for the shortest amount of time possible! Who cares if people think you are being a diva you need to be happy and COFORTABLE on your wedding day. You are going to remember the day forever and people will only remember your diva-ness for like a week (and i dont think that is a diva thing anyway), do what is going to allow you to be happy and have a great time, it sounds like having your hair up would just let you enjoy your time instead of feeling uncofortable the whole time.

Girl... I am doing the same thing! I am wearing my hair down and curly with a more traditional veil like in this picture. And for my reception, I am going to put it up with cute blingin' pins loL! and put on a birdcage veil with the updo. Its our day, lets do it the way we want, Im excited about the different looks!

If you have thick hair or really long hair.. you could buy a couple of "spin pins." I'm sure you can do a cute up do in about 30 seconds. I love those things.. but my hair is kinda thin so it looks like I dont have much hair when I use them. But give it a try! They really secure your hair in a good twisty bun.
