Thinking of doing a small 35th anniversary party for my parents ...

So I was talking to my brother the other night and I realized my parents are going to have been married 35 years in July! I was thinking of maybe doing something really small, like just my parents, their close friends, myself, brother, husband and maybe my Mom's closest sister and her husband to celebrate it, but we want it to be a surprise ... but my question is ... is it seriously silly to do a surprise anniversary party, I mean 35 years isn't considered a huge anniversary like 25 or 50 ...

Actually both my parents and FH's parents celebrate 35 years of marriage this year. We are going to do a surprise at the wedding, since it lands in between the 2 anniversaries. Haven't quite decided what we are doing.
But definitely go ahead and have a small surprise party for them. They will be thrilled!

Thirty five years of marriage is nothing to sneeze at. If you want to do something special for your parents then who cares if it isn't a huge anniversary. It is the thought that you want to celebrate their anniversary. I say absolutely go for it! It is not silly at all...it's very sweet.

Thanks ladies! I am thinking just a cook out with their favorite foods, maybe decorate the deck, and let them know that despite the fact that things have been crazy the last few years, we still love them! And hey if it weren't for their wedding, my brother and I would not be here (or maybe we would but we wouldn't be us) ...
