The Wedding Tattooer

MsDtoR2019, on July 20, 2017 at 2:32 PM Posted in Planning 0 23

I just heard about the Wedding Tattooer and I'm wondering if anyone here has heard of him and or used him?

He's a tattoo artist who will travel to your wedding reception and tattoo the wedding party and guests if they want tattoos. Everything is sterile one time use and he does amazing work.

That would be quite interesting at a wedding.

That's a thing? I love tattoos, but I don't think that I would want people to be getting inked at my wedding. But that's just me.

    So glad I posted here!

I like the idea in theory and think it would be super fun but everyone has brought up a lot of concerns that I didn't think about. I haven't even mentioned it to FH because I know he would immediately want to book him but I wanted to get more details before I even considered seeing if it's in our budget.

I think someone on Four Weddings had a tattooer at her wedding lol. I love tattoos but I wouldn't want this at my wedding.

Why do I feel slightly creeped out by this? It doesn't seem like a good idea.

I wouldn't get tatted at someone else's wedding, even if I was a BM.

    I can see it now....

Maybe save it for you and your FH on the honeymoon to go get tattoos?

@OGK- yeah, I'm that asshole who would get kicked out. Lol. I guess I'm just not "excited enough" about that wedding. Probably wouldn't chip in $1000 for the bachelorette party alone either.

The alcohol would absolutely be a concern for me and that alone would be enough to deter me from booking him because I know there's going to be a lot of alcohol consumption at our reception.

I just didn't know if anyone here had ever booked him or attended a wedding he had been at and if they had, what their experience had been like.

I absolutely love tattoos, but I know that I'd want to spend as much time as possible visiting with the guests instead of getting tattooed.

I have several tattoos. I can not imagine getting a tattoo at a wedding. You will be drinking and that is a huge issue. Two no way you can guarantee it will be a sterile workplace. I do not just spur of the moment get tattoos. They are planned out with the artists well in advance.I would not want the same tattoo as a bunch of people from a wedding. I have a tattoo that matches my SIL which is a memorial for our BIL and that I love but I am more into customizing tattoos to fit my taste.

@OG Kathryn -- I'd die from laughter if I showed up to someone's wedding and they were demanding that.

@MLTBVP -- FH & I plan on getting our rings tattooed, but we had discussed doing it before the wedding so they're healed by the wedding. If we don't get them before the wedding, we would definitely be getting them done at the reception.

I can't imagine any reception where this would end well.

@Jayme -- yea, I'm definitely not going to avoid drinking at my reception just to be able to get a tattoo and I wouldn't feel comfortable with a family member drinking too much and getting a tattoo while intoxicated. I know his website mentions all the stuff is sterile and one time use, but I don't know how he'd be able to guarantee that the workplace stays sterile. and I 100% do not want to get matching tattoos with everyone else. If they were custom and pers) 6 years later and I still love it.

Why would you get a tattoo close to your wedding? The stuff you have to use on them they swell ....

A bride on Four Weddings did this. It didn't seem like many people used him.

@LaKesha, if we get our rings done before the wedding, it would be over a month before the wedding so they have more time to heal. It's not like we would be getting it done the day before the wedding.
