Hey ladies just wondering how did you know the venue was the one? And how many venues did you visit before or after before you made the decision?

My fiance and I have visited 5 so far and we found one we really loved! The only problem we are having with it,is we cant get married there only the reception can be there (because it's a catholic location and their only allowed to do catholic ceremonies) that was a big thing for us wanting to have both the ceremony and reception at the same location, but we like it so much we might can get over.

Anyway the question I'm having is we still have about three more locations on our list my fiance still wants to go tour, but I dont want to possibly loss that one (we do have some time being that our wedding date is Sept 2021, but she did say its starting to book for that year) but I also dont want to jump on the first venue we both love, should we still explore.

I must have seen a dozen to be honest. For me it was a combo of the costs and the layout of the venue.

Because we did a destination wedding, we took a vacation there the year before and stopped by 12 venues in 4 days! We fell in love with a few but got our #1 choice after a few months of negotiating & changing our vision.

For our local reception, we toured 5 venues in one day.

I say visit a few more to find another you could love as much as the Catholic one.

Yes we have a pretty decent size budget, this one is a little on the higher side but it has a lot more included than the others so far. And the location is just beautiful with a lot of areas to take pictures!

I toured 5 but really only needed to tour 2. I had it narrowed down in my head to 2 before I even started looking but toured all 5 just to be 100% sure.

The determining factor for me was ceremony space. The reception space in both had a very similar atmosphere but the ceremony space was awkward in the one, so we went with the other.

I’d ask the venue you like if you could do a temporary hold on your date for a couple days that way it gives you time to look at the other venues and see if you like them as much.

Definitely go see the rest. Your date is pretty far and it sounds like your flexible on your date (any weekend of September 2021?) You may find one you love more.

I visited six venues but I could’ve ended my search after the first one. I knew my venue was the one because I could see myself getting married there. However it wasn’t in budget so I kept looking. Every venue I saw after, I kept comparing it to #1. My fiancé and mother encouraged me to not give up on #1. So we cut the guest list and chose a weekday. When you know, you know.

Our venue was the 1st one my mom & I toured and I fell in love! We went to 2 other places. We took my dad back to the first place because he balked at the price but then he fell in love with it too. When FH came in town, we went to visit both places we had narrowed it down to and we ended up booking the first place. It’s a beautiful all-inclusive place so everything is included. All we have to do is show up, which is what I wanted. I didn’t want my family to have to work on my wedding day, I wanted them to enjoy the day and being with everyone.
