The moment you realize how lucky/blessed you are

Hi all,
It’s about 5:30 AM our time, we just woke up for the day. My fiancé is getting ready for work and I am still laying in bed, about to get up to make him breakfast. I woke up at about 5:10 today, 5 minutes before our alarm went off, and I had the most amazing 5 minutes. It’s about 60 degrees and windy outside, so a little chilly. We had the window slightly cracked open so a breeze was coming in. We had a thick blanket on top of our summer sheets. My fiancé was cuddling me and I was the little spoon. One of our cats was cuddling with us, the other two were sitting quietly somewhere else in the room. It was a perfect moment, and with all the stress of planning a wedding, starting grad school, and having surgery a couple of weeks ago, it was exactly what I needed to remember how blessed I am to have this amazing guy in my life forever and how wonderful our little family of five (us and three cats) truly is. Hope everyone has a fantastic day! Let me know what moment this was for you!

Aww. How sweet! I love little moments like that with DH. He works kind of an opposite schedule as me (2nd shift Wed-Sun and I work an 8-5 Mon-Fri.) So I'm normally asleep by the time he gets home. But if I'm still awake he'll come "tuck me me" and snuggle me for a bit. Sometimes I enjoy just watching him sleep when I get up for work. He's on my left, cat's on my right, baby on the way, and I think about how blessed we are and how much I love my little family!

My FH and I also have opposite schedules, I'm 8-5 Mon-Fri and he's 3pm-1am Mon-Fri so we don't see each other often during the week. This morning when I got up for work he wasn't next to me and I instantly panicked, then found him passed out in the living room recliner with the TV still on Smiley xd I woke him up and walked him to bed and we snuggled for about five minutes until I had to start getting ready. Sometimes it really is the little things!

Awww I just woke up too. My husband leaves much earlier than I do so I was able to get a kiss before he left. It’s nice to reflect on the things you are grateful for.

The other night FH text me and asked if his apartment (which I've been moving stuff into but won't live in until after wedding) felt like home and if there was anything he could do to make it feel more like home. He's a gem!

Sounds amazing Smiley smile I remember during the wedding planning I felt stressed at times naturally and he took a moment to buy me flowers and a card and say he appreciated everything I've been doing for the wedding and for us

That is so sweet! It is definitely important to remember that we are marrying the person we love, not just planning a big party. It makes all the stressful moments seem insignificant. I'm glad you had a great morning.

I always say it's the small moments that make one feel loved and special. Morning snuggles are the best.
