We will probably be smashing just a little bit because FH is like that...but I told him if it gets in my hair or on my dress....he's dead.

There will be no cake smashing. It's a waste of cake that I can eat the next day.

What an a-hole, she better get a big fat piece of jewelry for those shenanigans.

FH and I will NOT be doing that, I'd like to continue looking good for the rest of the photos thank you very much.

Oh, I in NO way anticipate our cake smooshing to look like that...I would've left.

At least they don't have to worry about not being able to save the top layer for their anniversary, I'm pretty sure they wont make it that far

I told FH he is welcome to put food on my face whenever he wants, if he really feels the need to do so, but there will be no cake smashing on the wedding day.

No smashing for us. I hate the idea of having cake on my face (I can feel my pores clogging) and I don't want to ruin my make-up that I paid so much for, or get any on my dress.

It's cute if it's done playfully and nicely, but I don't want it done to me.

My husband and I did it. All 155 guests LOVED it!!! I paid $150 for make-up & hair. $1,000 total for my dress. It was totally worth it. I would of never done anything different with the cake smash. I could careless about my make-up. It was only a little foundation! We don't find it disrespectful in anyway. As a matter of fact we got encouraged (we already made our mind up that we were going to do it before the wedding) during the wedding to do it too. HAVE SOME FUN IN YOUR LIFE LADIES, IT'S NOT DISRESPECTFUL!!!! This is no different from people worry about your husband going up your dress and taking the garter off. We did that too!!!!!! We had a 6 inch cake to cut with 200 cupcakes to eat. We were good on not running out.

Hell to the no. I even bought us adorable cake forks in an attempt to prevent this from happening.

Nope...more like heck no! I warned my DH how disrespectful I thought it would be if he did that to me on our wedding day. After much reasoning with him, he understood my point of view and didnt smash cake in my face. Hes a prankster so he thought it would be funny, but nope not that day! We just feed each other cake and shared a kiss.

We didn't. I bought some cute forks with Mr. _____________ and Mrs. _________ on them. We used forks like civilized people. :-)

Although when we did, two things happened:

    1) Cake fell off his fork and down my dress AND

    2) When we crossed arms, he pulled both his hand and my arm towards him - giving himself both pieces of cake. He was not very coordinated!

Feeding each other cake is symbolic of your recent promises (those vows you JUST exchanged) to care for and provide for each other.

I told FH that I did not want cake smashing. He was surprised that I thought I needed to tell him. We both have a sense of humor about other things, but we wouldn't smash cake in each other's face any other day. Why would we do when we were all dressed up?

I agree. I don't want to do the smashing. I told FH I would be LIVID if he did that and I'm NOT playing. I went to his friends wedding last summer and the groom smashed the cake on the bride, the only thing was, their cake was blue and white and he took the blue part (of course) instead of the white and got it on her dress. I didn't know the bride, but I saw her come into the restroom while I was in their. She and her bridesmaids were in panick mode because he had gotten the blue frosting on her dress and they were trying to get it out. She was furious. I think it's stupid to risk messing up your expensive dress, your makeup, and your hair just for a moment. Also, depending on how bad it is, you have to waste time AWAY from your reception putting yourself back together. I know FH may want to do it, but hopefully he maintains some control because I will not be a happy bride if he gives into temptation.

We wouldn't smash cake in one another's face on a normal day, we sure won't be doing it on one of the most important days of our lives!

I'd be surprised if we don't. We do things like that regularly.

Reallllly won't care about my hair or make up at that point of the night. Dances and photos will be over. But, FH is smart enough to know what's silly and what's just straight up mean and uncalled for. He'd never cover me in cake (or I him), but we will probably end up with frosted noses.

And hey, if I miss some, he can always clean it up for me later Smiley winking

I don't want to ruin my makeup but I think we can still feed it to each other without making a mess.
