Hey all! After reading Fins' post, it made me laughed because her venue has same rules as mine. We are getting married on Naval Base. Some dumbest rules are to have nothing hanging on the wall, have to pay for cake fee and can have flower petals at ceremony as long as it is not RED. Can't bring any alcohol or foods to the reception. Please tell me yours!

Our venue has like no rules, except you can't nail things to the wall or thumbtack them there, and then said if you have candelabras you have to put a plate underneath so it doesn't leak onto the tablecloth or anything like that

Our wedding venue is pretty easy to work with, the only "rule" they have is no paper or plastic plates/utensils/cups. They are a "Green" location and would like us to use their mis-matched plates and silverware. I'm ok with it, but we would have to wash them, and they dont have enough for our guest list. At last count they had 60 we have 160 on our list. We are having a meeting about it next month.

No petals, birdseed or confetti, no hanging things on the wall-can from ceiling though? Cake cannot be on carpet... no buy by the keg/bottle or any kind of discounted rate... out by midnight.. not bad at all though... NO USING THE KITCHEN to cook... but can use it to re warm... that one sucks the most!

We're required to have security guard if there is alcohol and/or a dj.

Birds and rice is a myth. I've read it or seen it somewhere. I can't remember where now.

I can only have 12 chairs at my ceremony location. Its an outdoor venue, but makes no sense to me

Has anyone found a venue that doesn't allow for guests or high heels too? :p Some venues are just ridiculous with the rules. Some rules are completely understandable, but others... just the venue being impossible.

I can browsing venues in San Diego and I swear one of the places didn't allow anything to be hung up either, even with tape (they had NO TAPE in bold letters).

Dks64, we were looking for a venue in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and so many of them limited you to something like 12 guests - just FH's immediate family would've filled that up!

12 guests? Wow. Was it a space issue? I have a large family, I don't see myself getting away with a guest list shorter than 80 people.

Hey I have the same rules, no red petals onless they are fake.

No tape or glue to anything, no banging on tablewear.

For me what I didn't like was they told me just before finalising meeting about the roses. And guess what my color is RED. And I was planning on putting petals on the tables ...

I have to be done and everyone and everything cleaned my 10. I can't put anything in the ground, can put chairs outside, no flames, can't cook in the kitchen, and music can only be played inside.
