The day after the wedding!!!

May, on September 6, 2019 at 3:33 PM Posted in Planning 0 16
Sooo in my culture (mexican) we have this thing called tornoboda or tornofiesta. It's basically a second party of just family at our home or wherever you want it. It's more during the day. Theres a small band, plenty of food, drinks, opening of gifts if you want to, and sort of an overall recap of events. We are very close with family so it's all about being comfy and having a good time. My question is, what will yall be doing the very next day??? Whether it's going straight to honeymoons, home, hotel, or sleeping in!! Let me know (:

That sounds like a great way to spend the day after the wedding! We're going straight to our honeymoon after the wedding. Driving halfway and getting a hotel that night and then driving the rest of the way that morning Smiley smile

We'll sleep in and hang out for a while, then check out of our wedding night suite around 11 and head straight to our mini-moon.

Girl, I will be sleeping in. I'm going out the night before my wedding. Full day of wedding (of course) followed by an after party.

I am super excited to sleep in at the hotel the next day.

We had a farewell brunch for everyone at the hotel and then drove home to enjoy our time together.

Armenians have a similar tradition. Family comes over and you open gifts, there is usually food and drinks. We are considering doing this since we don't leave for our honeymoon until the Wednesday after our Saturday wedding.

We thought about having a post-wedding brunch, but we ultimately decided we'd rather spend the day wrapped up in each other in bed. So we're sleeping in, having breakfast in bread, and taking it easy. Depending on how we feel, we might have an impromptu dinner with any friends and family still in town.

My FH and I are also Mexicans, and we also have a gathering the next day, but we call it a recalentado. As much as I want to sleep in and relax for the day, I'm sure we will have family coming from out of state, that will be staying at my parents house, so we kind of have to have a recalentado. Which in the end, it should be nice because we get to talk about everything that happened at the wedding and ofcourse, let's not forget the "chismes" (gossip) lol

We went to breakfast in our hotel to say goodbye to a lot of our guests. My husband drove one of his GM to the airport, I drove home and met the DOC to get all our decor from her. The next day we left for our honeymoon!

We are staying at our venue the entire weekend through Monday. We might have breakfast with our families before they leave town, but honestly we're just looking forward to relaxing and enjoying the beautiful view from the balcony. I don't plan to have enough energy for anything more than going out to dinner and relishing the memories of the week.
