This is a rant. I don't normally buy bras at VS, but I got a gift card for Christmas. I went and was fitted as a 34C. They were comfortable in the store, but once I got home and moved around, I couldn't get the straps to stay. So I went back and the next salesperson fit me as a 32DD (WTF!). The bra...

The bra provided great coverage and the straps were comfortable. Went home and moved around and the wire was just DIGGING into me. Went back a third flipping time and the next salesperson fit me in a 34B. When I objected, she insisted it was the right size.

I finally asked to speak to the manager to explain my frustration. The manager insisted on fitting me and fit me as a 32D. I tried on 6 different bras and none of them fit me... Finally she admitted that maybe VS bras just don't fit me.

So yup, now after 3 trips and 3 hours, I know that I either wear a 34B, 34C, 32D or 32DD. And I still don't have new bras.

I really like soma. To bad I'm not interested in paying for them, I'm to cheap. I just spent 70 there on Friday.

I'd steer clear of Victoria Secret. Just not worth it.

For the record even the same brand size doesn't fit the same. I fit. 32DD or 34C. I'm bottom heavy and top shallow makes things difficult. But I have soma bras I love and but others I cannot wear from soma. Same size same brand different style. Can't wear them. The band makes or breaks a bra for me.

I have never had good luck with VS bras! And they are overpriced and poor quality. I have Target bras that fit perfectly and last forever.

And this is why I go to Torrid. I was sized correctly and their bras are the most comfortable I've ever worn.

Bra shopping is the absolute worst T_T I've never bought a VS bra and perhaps never will. I'll take 3 great fitting khols bras for the price of 1 VS bra. But in all honesty, I just stick to sports bras that don't give me a uni-boob.

Soma is life changing. Go there.

VS has always measured me as a 34C, even when I was actually a 32A when I was 14. So yea...

Same brand doesn't mean same style. I also have friends who have worked at VS and admit they're told to measure their sizes so women buy larger. I personally think they're overpriced and not anywhere near the best.

Soma is the only place I will buy bras now.. just as expensive as VS but such higher quality. And their sizes are so much more accurate! I'm sized as a 38DD, but I'm also 4'11" so the straps are always WAY too long. One of the women at soma told me to go down in the size around and up a cup size to 36DDD (which mind you I almost had a heart attack about) but it FITS!

They use the same tester bra to establish fit, so it really doesn't make sense that they all got different sizes.

Thanks for the tips ladies! I tried the 5-step measuring process (UK) method linked on page 1 (Reddit) and I have a better idea of my size.

@Erin- the cup size is confusing and also made me panic. A 32DD?? The Reddit link helped clarify that smaller band size means smaller cups. FH is still teasing me about it though and is calling me "double d". My other nickname is KK, so he can't help himself.

In my teenage years, I shopped at VS, who sized me as a 36DD. I always fell out of my bras and couldn't bend over or jump without issues. Constant quadruple boob, which I thought was normal. Then I moved to the UK, went to bravissimo and they measured me as a 32FF. I was crying after bc I was so upset over the number but let me tell you, it has been LIFE-CHANGING. My boobs are no longer inconvenient, I look thinner and actually a little less porn-stary, I can do daily activities no problem and I have no uncomfortable pain. Get fitted properly! Nordstrom, local bra store, or while traveling abroad. I love my boobs now whereas before they were bothersome, and we all deserve to love our bodies!

I measure myself before buying a bra, but I love vs and they really don't fit like they used to. I will probably forever wear the pink underwear though. I've heard most people go to kohl's now. Good luck in your bradevengures. Lol

Jockey also offers to customize bras. I haven't tried it, but a friend did and she loves her bras. It's like $60 for their fitting package, but it's supposed to be the bomb.

VS is crazy expensive. I bought underwear from there because there was some huge sale going on and when I got home i realized how much of a waste of money it was. I also never understood why they measure the way they do. A lot of stores do it that way. Which is insane.

Sorry you had a crappy experience! I wear a 34B and I ONLY own Victoria's Secret bras. I wear the push-up T-shirt bra, that's it, it's the best bra I've ever owned.

I prefer Dillard's to get fitted for a bra. They are always very good. Since they fitted me and explained exactly how a bra is supposed to fit, I've been able to pick out comfortable bras on my own
