Thank you wording for financial help

Mallorie , on April 15, 2016 at 1:00 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 8

I'm making my programs, and I want to recognize my moms boss who gave us a generous amount of money to cover the cake and dessert table for our wedding.

So far my wording for my thank you is

"Thank you to our family and friends who traveled near and far to be with us today. We are so happy you are here, our day wouldn’t have been the same without you!

Special thanks to our parents for their endless love, support, and patience throughout the years. "

How do I fit the thank you in with out specifically saying "Thanks to So & So for the Money"

Can you use the word support? It's financial support but this way you're not announcing it

We hope that you enjoy the night, the love and the laughter, and if you have a sweet tooth, please visit the sweets table, lovingly provided by Ms. Smith.

I fel like it's a little awkward, kind of like thanking someone for sponsoring your wedding. Would a heartfelt thank you note suffice?

You can put a note on the sweets table - maybe "Sweets provided by ..." Or something like that.

Cece nailed it. I would venture to say that her boss didn't provide the money for recognition, but for the joy of helping. A beautifully written thank you note; maybe a 'sweet' little gift? Two demitasse cups and spoons? A pretty cake plate? Something not expensive but dessert related? One of those macaron shaped trinket boxes? A cupcake made out of chrysanthemums? And a profuse thank you.

But indeed, a gesture. And what a lovely gift!
