Thank You- Wedding Ceremony Start Time

Brina328, on November 26, 2019 at 6:09 PM Posted in Planning 0 8
Thank You to everyone that commented on my question about the ceremony start time versus time on invite. Thanks to all of you, I slept on it and decided to put the actual time of 4:30 on the invitation and for my sanity (lol), included on the details card that we would like for guests to arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of the ceremony. I feel accomplished! 😇

Are you having a wedding website? I would put it there instead and spread it by word of mouth as well. Putting it on the details card is okay but unless the parking is limited or there is a walk to the ceremony location I wouldn't mention it, your guests know to be on time.

Awesome! Good idea putting it on the details card. I just put it on my website and then when my mom mentioned to some of her friends that they had to be 15 minutes early, they were shocked and admitted they didn’t read the website 🤦🏻‍♀️🙄 seems like there is a correlation with type of people who would show up late and type of people who don’t read the website lol. Hopefully it’ll all work out for you! Again I’d still try to spread it through word of mouth (especially to people who are usually late) as I think that’s the most effective. We didn’t have anyone late to ours Smiley smile

LOL! Those are usually the same people who don't read ANYTHING that would help them navigate life easier!

It's always the way. If you put it on the detail card, they won't read it. On the website? Nope. A bunch of our guests won't even go there. So, I would just trust that they are adults, and most of them will make a serious effort to be on time. The ones who don't? They are like that with everyone, and every event. Don't take it personally. It's their loss if they show up late and miss some of it.

I hear you:-). But, my decision is made. Also, I have something else happening at 4:15- very brief entertainment so either way it will work out. 😇. Thanks. You made me smile

No, we do not have a wedding website. I’ve ordered the invites and put the actual time of 4:30. On the details card, added a line asking guests to arrive between 4:00 and 4:15.
