Texas venues- less known, smaller price tag?

Apeal127, on February 18, 2020 at 5:12 PM Posted in Texas Planning 1 10
Looking to see if anyone knows of any venues in Texas, for a ceremony (and reception if the offer is there) preferably outdoors and near a waterfront that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. All the promoted venues are just out of my price range and I’m starting to worry I won’t find a venue with my budget. Unfortunately I have no family members with awesome ranches or even a big backyard lol. Any information would be great. I know national parks are great and affordable options but with the cost it would require to even get to most of them, it would counteract my cost saving measures. Most of the parks nearby aren’t ideal either. Any park not in Corpus Christi that may be an option that might not be swarmed with people?

What's your budget and overall "look" if you don't mind me asking? I searched all over Texas because we have ties to multiple areas and I found quite a few venues that cost much lower than most of the typical venues. A lot of them were on the more rustic side though.

Our budget is $1000 for venue. We love super nature-y vibes, forest/mountain/river/lake, but not cabin/barn/old 1800s house. Hotels and country clubs are a no as well. Think hippie and you’ll be super close. I don’t mind a little rustic but the less the better.

Peer Space has a ton of affordable options that you can rent out. Most of them are more industrial than nature-y though. If you were interested in a really small ceremony or elopement, you could do it at enchanted rock and then have a reception later? The reason I say small ceremony is because Granny probably can't hike all the way up the rock lol

You're going to be hard pressed to find something near water for that cost, but near the Austin/Hill Country, check out Chapel Dulcinea....they have a great view and very reasonable in cost....

We are having ours at the Fort Worth Zoo. I am beyond excited. It’s all inclusive too. Food and beverage are catered through the zoo which is amazing, and the food options are incredible. The location we are having our reception has a huge patio overlooking a private enclosure with antelope. The price was amazingly reasonable, way cheaper than anything else we were looking at! I am so excited, I can’t wait for December to be here!Texas venues- less known, smaller price tag? 2

Were getting married in Huntsville State Park at the Ravens Lodge. The lodge itself is more rustic looking but I thought I’d throw it out there since it’s very affordable and on a lake. It’s $500 to rent Friday-Sunday and $300 Monday-Thursday. It comes with tables and chairs and everything else is DIY. We’re doing the ceremony outdoors on the deck and the reception indoors but you could pull off doing both outdoors since the deck is pretty big.
