Tent Venues in Michigan

Lindsey, on July 23, 2018 at 10:07 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 9

Hello! Does anyone know a place in south-east Michigan where I can have a Tent wedding? I'm trying to keep things on a budget and cannot afford $15,000 for just a venue. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!.

Hi Lindsey! Yay for Michigan brides and grooms Smiley smile

Tent rental is by no means inexpensive and you still need a venue on which to place it.

Plus there is the need for cooling and or heating -- especially with Michigan weather!

$15,000 is not usually the going rate for a venue around here. Where are you looking?

Sorry, I don't have suggestions for renting a tent, but oftentimes it can be just as expensive to rent a tent compared to renting a venue

Do you mean you can't afford $15K for just the venue itself? Because that is a large budget and you'll definitely be able to find venues under that

Or do you mean you can't afford $15K for venue and food/drinks? If that's the case, the easiest way to cut your budget is to cut down on guest list

I have inquired about several venues and they have been at least $10,000 for just the venue for the weekend, doesn't include any food or alcohol. The venues were barns, I am looking in Northern Oakland County and Genesee County.

I cannot afford $15k for just the venue itself, I am also finding that a lot of places have minimums for Saturday weddings during peak season. We are only planning on having 75-100 people tops so that is also making things a little difficult.

Does it have to be a barn? Those seem to charge premium prices and it might not be comfortable in October if there is no heat.

If it doesn't we can give you suggestions that are reasonable.

No, it doesn't have to be a barn at all. I would love suggestions that are reasonable.

Cobblestone Farms in Ann Arbor, Michigan has about a $2000 rate for a Saturday rental, I think. Still not cheap, but not $10,000. You could have the ceremony in the barn or set up a tent next to the barn on the lawn.

I think you can also do a tent rental at Eagle Crest hotel, which is near Ypsilanti, but I am unsure of the cost.

I am planning a wedding in Southeast Michigan and most rental fees I found were anywhere from $1-3K, so there are definitely some options out there for someone that doesn't have a large budget.

    Good luck!

The Taylor Conservatory is absolutely beautiful!! I would check it out! It’s less than 2k for a Friday & I think it’s just under 4k for a Saturday (that was Oct. 2017, it couldve raised) it was my favorite place but I let my FH pick his lol they have a preferred vendor for tent rentals as well & you can get cooling for the tents. There is also an open vendor policy so you can have any caterer as long as they’re licensed & you can purchase your liquor as long as a licensed/insured bartender serves.
