Based on your emojis, my guess is: you were together 4 years, and then discussed possibly getting married and saving up for a ring, but then decided to wait until after graduating school, but then he surprised you with the ring before graduating?

View Quoted Comment Hahaha almost! We were together 4 years and knew we would eventually get married. One day he asked me randomly what I would like in an engagement ring. He went and found it secretly, but for the next 2 months my impatient, anxious self started to think it wasn’t happening after all 😂 One day he says “hey my best friend’s mom is throwing him a graduation party by reserving a table at a steakhouse.” I was like “oh ok cool.” So I dressed up for it. Turns out it was just a cover story to get me there looking nice! His best friend (who really had just gotten his degree) wasn’t having a grad party at all! He brought me over to the little gazebo near the water at the restaurant and proposed 😂 Both our parents, siblings, and that best friend were watching on the second floor through the windows and ran down afterwards for pictures together. Then we all had dinner together and laughed about the whole ruse 🤣

View Quoted Comment Yes to this, almost exactly! We went on a vacation for our 5-year dating anniversary, and the hotel we stayed at overlooked a lake, which has a huge bridge in the distance. The hotel provides dinner and requires everyone to adhere to their dress code in the evenings, so we dressed up. After dinner, we were sitting on rocking chairs on the porch of the hotel, watching the sunset over the bridge and the lake, when he suddenly stood up and asked if I wanted to go inside to get some wine. It was literally right at the best part of the sunset, so I told him I was going to stay outside for a few more minutes. He stayed standing next to me, and then after a few moments, he said something like, "Well, I guess now's as good a time as any." I was only halfway listening, but when my brain finally caught up, I started wondering what he thought now was a good time for. So I turned my head to ask, and he was kneeling on the ground with a ring! I was 1,000% shocked, I definitely did not anticipate a proposal! Afterwards, we went inside to get a glass of wine to celebrate.

Haha I sort of did on the day of. When my family said they were going out that night, I suspected something was up. I made sure to look my best and not make him nervous in the car 🤣 When no one I knew was outside and he was walking me around the area outside, I knew it 😂

There were even a couple kids running around that came up behind us while walking and yelled something in a different language 🫣 He was so nervous they would ruin the final moment, but he was trying not to let his frustration show, so the expression on his face was hilarious 😆

And yes definitely had that brain catching up to me moment as well 😂 I laughed after he popped the question because of the whole trick and he stayed down there kneeling, sweating bullets and waiting for the response when I finally realized I needed to actually respond 🤣

View Quoted Comment Haha, I unintentionally delayed my response to my now husband when he proposed too! I was so caught off guard by the proposal, I felt like I forgot how to talk, until my brain finally caught up and I told him yes, lol. I bet your partner was nervous until you finally replied!
