Tea Length Wedding Dress with Floor Length Bridesmaid Dresses

Ok it seems like most pictures are tea length and tea length, like so:

I think the main issue you're going to have is the level of formality - longer gowns tend to look more formal than shorter ones, so you run the risk of the bridesmaids dresses looking more dressy than yours.

That said, I think if you were going for a big skirt, then a longer, more pencil skirt on your bridesmaids could look good - like these maybe?

The closest I could find was this image - you can see the bride's dress is technically shorter than some of the bridesmaid's choices:

and this one - which, again, is teeechnically slightly shorter than the bridesmaids although not full gowns:

If the bride is wearing tea length, the bridal party should too, in my opinion. Floor length bridesmaids dresses are typically for more formal weddings. And bride in a tea length is not formal. I’d have everyone wear the same length.

It would look a little unbalanced if the bride had a tea length dress and the bridesmaids had a full length. If you wanted a tea length dress then the bridesmaids should too.

I’m also wearing a tea length dress. I really had trouble finding inspiration photos for bridesmaids. I ended up buying them their as floor length with the plans to alter them to be shorter.

Off topic-ish, who are using as your designer for your dress? I love tea length dresses. I ended up going with House of Mooshki.

I think that those photos Lynnie found show that it can work with a shorter bridal gown and longer bridesmaids dresses so if that's what you want go for it It's your wedding and your style after all .

I think it looks nice either way. My wedding dress is tea length and my maid of honor’s dress is a light gray sleeveless v-neck full length. No bridesmaids as we’re keeping it simple, so our wedding party consists of a maid of honor and a best man along with our parents who will enter down the aisle
