Tax Season! Wedding Season!

Christina, on February 21, 2022 at 9:50 PM Posted in Planning 5 4

Hi everyone! I was just wondering if anyone here works in accounting and is planning their wedding around busy season! I just booked my church for 4/22/23 and I am definitely excited, but 13+ hour days are definitely putting a damper on the fun of planning. I have a coordinator who I will be working with (and the wedding is a destination wedding, so there will not be much that I can do in the weeks leading up to it anyway) but has anyone else experienced planning their wedding around the tax deadline? Any tips?

I don't work in accounting, but I am a pastry chef so I feel the long days. Won't lie that's why I asked my FH who is an accountant if we could start planning two years out.
For us we got the big things we wanted, venue, photographer and my dress right away. Then after our busy seasons looked at other stuff. Thankfully we talked about what we wanted so when it came time to find the D.j. or even help me research hair and makeup he did the work, showed me and I was able to book things.
I hope you are able to enjoy planning even with the long days ahead.

I work at a tax accountant/CPA firm and it was absolute chaos trying to continue planning our wedding last year while working nearly everyday making sure to get things done, sent off and submitted timely for all our clients. Honestly there are times I look back and don't know how I even managed to do it.
Definitely take care of all the big ticket items first, getting all your vendors picked out and secured. Then make sure you give them your overall want(s), feelings and "theme" for your wedding that way it's not during peak time of deadline and they are asking you a whole bunch of questions without any direction to go in beforehand.

I'm an Amazon warehouse worker and yeah like the Christmas season killed me in all fronts. I just worked on what I could when I was off and felt up to doing wedding stuff and didn't worry about it the rest of the time. Since then I've switched my shifts around and I'm doing a lot better tying up details, lol.

It's stressful yes but you can get through it! You got this!
