Taller than FH on wedding day?!

FH and I are basically the same height, so I have been searching for blue flats for the wedding.. but I am in love with these Kate Spade's. They have a 3 inch heel. I am pretty sure tux shoes will give FH a little height, but do you think it will be weird if I am a tad taller? He says he doesn't...

Some people are antiquated and have issues with gender stereotypes.

It sounds like your FH is secure with himself and wants to make you feel beautiful and happy. Take him up on it.

So...should she not marry him if he were naturally shorter? This is cracking me up.

I specifically wore heels at my wedding so I wouldn't be a foot shorter than everyone else! My husband loves when I wear heels because he can kiss me without bending down, lol!

I have a relative (female) who is 6'1''. Her husband is 5'4''. She wore tennis shoes on their wedding day for comforts sake but she regularly wears 3,4, even 5'' heels. She likes them and he doesn't care one bit. He's a confident guy so it doesn't phase him.

If your FH doesn't mind it I don't see an issue. But if you're hesitating then maybe find something else. They are just shoes and I'm sure you can find others you like. IMO when it comes to your wedding day if you think you might feel uncomfortable about something then why do it? You want to feel totally confident.

If he doesn't care and you're like "Yes! I need these shoes" then get them. Simple as that

FH and I are the same height too. He told me to get the heels I want & doesn't care. If yours doesn't care either & you love them, go for it. Plus, those are super cute.

    Just saying....

anyway- that's a ridiculous thing to be worried about- i hate when people bring it up- like really? that's your'e big concern.

Anyway- I don't care- I wear heels all the time- I'm frequently taller then FH is- and fortunately it just puts my ass closer to his hands- which is really the only reason why he's with me anyway. #priorities

edit- this isn't exactly relevant- but- it's still funny and it's good enough for me to use- so damnit- I did.

Ok - so I can't relate as a short girl marrying a tall guy. BUT...I can relate as a girl who loves shoes. Get them.

Those are beautiful! As long as he doesn't mind then go for it. Ask him and see what he thinks. Stand in a mirror with them on ... take a pic and see if it really bothers you. If not then go for it!

Those shoes rock, and hopefully your FH is secure enough not to give a rats bum. My FH is 5', I'm 5'1.5", and I'm rocking 3" heels because they make me feel sexy and I love them. Pictures show who you are and if who you are is slightly taller or the same height, so be it!

Good Lord, we're still debating this issue in 2016! Should we also make sure that the bride is younger, less well educated, and makes less money than the groom?

When I got married the first time, in 1977, the bridal consultant tried to tell me I should wear flats so I wouldn't be taller than the groom. I said that I would be taller than the groom in my bare feet, and asked whether she thought I should find a different groom to fix this "problem."
