TABLE NUMBERS????

STB Mrs Van Blargan, on January 22, 2011 at 5:25 PM Posted in Planning 0 13

What are you doing for table numbers?? What are you doing for your seating chart?? I need ideas. I think for my table numbers, I am writing out ONE, TWo, THREE, FOUR, FIVE, SIX and decorating them with pearls and gems. What size papers??? I am using 4 by 6 for my table numbers.

    How many tables are you having? once you start getting into the teens it might look weird to have the number written out... but for a small wedding it would be nice

    I personally dont care for numbes and seating charts. i want my guests to sit wherever they want. also it eliminates the stress of "oh uncle fred cant sit by my moms best friends cousin because he dont like people with blue eyes" or "mom cant sit beside ffil because he supposedly called her fat" those kinds of things.

    i have seen mirrors for a god price at walmart, dollar stores and oriental trading maybe you could etch the number in the mirror and put some candles around them? lets srr if i can find a picture.

    Thats a name but its the same idea. and o would no use words i would use actual 1 2 3..... also you could do table pictures like have a chart that says table hen a picture of you and fh and they have o find the table that has that same picture. or you could use glass paint and paint on the glass of a picture frame.

    For our escort card display we're using trays of wheat grass with little planter labels

    For our table numbers, I believe we're using the Martha Stewart books

    A nice trend we saw this year in weddings was people replacing table #'s with places that meant a lot to them (where they first met, street they grew up on, where they got engaged, vacationed, etc). So instead of 1, 2, 3...its' "Harvard Square", "Red Sox", "Westford St", etc. Some had a board set up by the seating cards table that had the names and why each place's significance was to them. It was kind of fun for guests too. They'd say " where are you sitting?"..."oh! I'm at Harvard Square!", "me too!" etc.

    Another replacement we saw to place cards (and guests loved) was a CD of their favorite music and the case cover had the guests' name and table # or table name on it.

    I'm having 8 tables. Doing free standing copper numbers that I found on etsy. Here is a picture of them in a silver finish. Haven't decided on a seating chart just yet.

    We are using a wine cork board that I made and wind bottle centerpieces that double as table numbers. The wine bottles on the cork board will be made out of black glitter paper with white glitter paper labels with the names printed on them.

    In keeping with our casually elegant biker themed wedding, "What a long strange trip it's been!" We are naming each table after a place we have been to on the bike. We have 15 small tables. Each ivory card is shaped like a motorcycle. Inside in brown calligraphy font, is the name of the place...St. Louis, Eureka Springs, Smokey Moutains, etc. The wheels have the logo from the type of bike we ride(Star). It is actually my project for tomorrow. We will put them on gold toned 12 " table number holders. We found today!

    While we are not having assigned seating, we wanted to put a little touch of motorcycle in the mix.

    @Andrene...I love the copper numbers!

    We got engaged in Italy so we're naming our tables after Italian cities. For our escort cards, I'm going to have them standing up in wine corks with slits. And I just came up with the idea of using giant wine bottle (that equals 4 regular bottles) as a vase for floweres on the table with the escort cards.
