Holaaaaa,

I'm finally at that point where some of my visions for the big day are starting to change. From day one of planning, we've never wanted a sweetheart table for the reception. We love our friends and wanted everyone to sit up there with us (plus it just looks cool lol) but now I'm having second thoughts.

I came across the cutest couple and their sweetheart table that looks pretty similar to my tablescape vision but for just two. The couple in the photo looked absolutely adorable and now all I can envision is me and my future hubby up there; justtttt the two of us. So we can't decide...also we're a party of 12 and I knew we'd need about 3 farm tables to complete the look. It was recently brought to my attention that everyone might not fit in the backdrop which is the big silver accent wall in the last photo. (I guess I should get table measurements now lol)

Anywho, here are some of my tablescape ideas! What are your thoughts? You think we can pull it off? What are you doing for your weddings?
You and hubby 👰🏾🤵🏾 or...
The whole team👩🏾‍💼👨🏾‍💼👩🏾‍💼👨🏾‍💼👩🏾‍💼👰🏾🤵🏾👨🏾‍💼👩🏾‍💼👨🏾‍💼👩🏾‍💼

We are doing a head table as we wanted our friends (including their significant others) with us. We are not doing a one-side table but will have the the wedding party and their SOs sitting around the table with us - like the other guests. We asked this people to stand up with us and also to break bread with us as a married couple.

I think we’re doing a head table - round with our small bridal party. We want to be surrounded by our friends and family.

Sweetheart. We are an older couple and therefore our bridal party is older so we are putting them with their spouses/SO’s at tables through the reception.

It’s always been my dream to have our people with us! However, looking at it more realistically now, I’ve come to terms with the fact that this would mean they wouldn’t be able to sit with their significant others, or even children in some cases. I told FH we were going to do sweetheart table to allow them to sit with their other loved ones as well. He doesn’t love the idea, but I also explained it’ll be about the only time we’ll have to really relish the details of the day on our own and that it works best for everyone, and he understands it.

Yeah and that's nice of you to think about them! We could've literally went either way with our party...out of 10 only 2 are in relationships, some will be out of town and not bringing guests, the rest aren't bringing dates by choice and we're having a kid free wedding. I'm looking forward to that "alone" time with him though so we'll do the sweetheart.

We’re doing a long head table and everyone’s dates (and kiddos!) are sitting with us up there because I can’t imagine splitting people up! I personally love the idea of a sweetheart table for the privacy, but the truth is that people will still get to you even if you have someone appointed to stand guard so you two can actually eat in peace for a few minutes. However, most of our wedding party is immediate family and almost all are flying in from out of state and doing so much to be a part of our day and we want to spend as much time as possible with our favorite people! We’ll have forever together but it’s a day to celebrate with everyone!

Sweetheart table! Im so excited for ours since its gonna be clearly different than the rest since it will be the one table with tye dye, possibly a skull from our bone collection, and as many Grateful Dead refrences as we can fit. Kind of offbeat, but the people who are coming wouldnt expect anything else from us.

We had three farm tables put together length-wise so it was one big feast (only 15 guests, no wedding party). But I love the evolution of the sweetheart table. Very romantic and even more adorable photo opps. Plus, in the 90’s I was a BM and MOH and hated the head table, especially at one where my boyfriend had to sit at a table with strangers. This started a fight between us and it wasn’t something I even wanted. So I’m Team Sweetheart Table all the way—for the couple and wedding party! 🎉

My fiancé and I decided on it just being us two as soon as we saw how it was at my moms wedding. Her bridal party moved around to sit next to who they know or came with and only sat at the head table for a good 20 minutes out of a 5 hour wedding.
