Surprise or expected proposal? Were you completely shocked when the big moment happened or did you know all along? Tell us how it all went down!
Totally surprised. I knew it would come one day, just didn’t think it would be as soon as we moved into our first home we own. He did it on my birthday weekend. We were away at a super nice hotel.
We had talked about it for a long time, and had pretty much the whole wedding planned. However, I didn't know that he was going to propose when he did. It was after the Kevin hart show at Mohegan sun. We will be a blended family with 5 kids. The part I remember most about when he asked was out perfectly imperfect little family becoming one 💙
He proposed a few times actually before I knew he was being serious. The first time I shoved him on the ground right as he knelt down and the second time I called him a liar cause he had told me he would never get married. Well finally the third time he told me he was being serious and I said yes
We've been together since 8th grade so I knew it was going to happen. I even showed him a ring a like and he got it. I was still shocked because I didn't think he would do it so soon!
I was totally surprised! He asked me late one night after working a 10 hour shift, I was in the kitchen after cooking dinner and washing the dishes when he came up behind me and just hugged me and said, " thank you for everything you have ever done for me." Not really thinking anything of it I just said your welcome amor. He stopped hugging me and asked me to turn around and I did and he just grabbed my hand got down and asked me to marry him with a candy ring pop( of course my favorite flavor)! I said yes and now we are here waiting for our day to say I do!
I definitely was shocked that it was actually happening after 7 and a half years of dating. We had many discussions about it, and knew it was in our future, but I didn’t know anything until it happened.
Actually, I proposed to him. We had discussed at the beginning that when I felt ready I would ask him (he had been engaged before and it ended rather badly) I am much younger than him and still had a bit of maturing to do. So one Christmas morning, I hide the box at the back of the tree, bent down to reach for it and turned around on one knee and asked him to marry me. He turned beet red, all teary eyed and said yes!
We talked about getting married for a while. But when he finally poped the question I was shocked. I was not expecting it at all. It was a simple proposal but it was perfect.
I thought it might happen (because we went to a place I always wanted to go for vacation), but I was completely surprised by how he did it and the sheer thought he put into it! we were at Harry Potter World in Orlando, and he gave me a Harry Potter themed ring on the wand of my favorite character!
Thank you for sharing this with me!! Typically the roles are reversed so it is refreshing and so nice to see that you took the time out to plan something so special for him! I can tell by his post just how much he enjoyed it! I wish nothing but the best to the both of you
I was completely shocked! We were at the Trevi fountain in Rome for my birthday and he'd carried the ring around all day in his shoe!! He proposed in front of about 400 people and everyone was clapping and cheering!!
I'm 21 he's 22, we've been together since i was a freshman in Highschool! On August 21,2017. We love nature and adventure and planned a trip to Oregon to see the full solar eclipse. After a long hike and seeing many waterfalls, we sat near a beautiful lake, with trees and a perfect view on the eclipse. Once it got dark he pulled out a ring and asked me if I would spend the rest of my life with him! I yelled YES!!!
It was deffently rememberable it wasnt like your normal proposal, he didnt have a ring or any plan of attack at that point. I had just gotten into a fight with my kids father over something dumb.. so he took me to go to his gun range at the time to let out some steam, after that we went some place to eat then back to our spot (the place where we would kick back and let everything loose sorta speek) technically it was where we had our first date, well long story short we had a tiff and our of our drunken stupor, he had a mt. Dew bottle next to him pulled the ring that keeps the cap sealed off of the bottle and makes a ring out of it, he then turns to me and asks me to be his never ending galaxy. I couldn't help but say yes! He has been everything to me and my kids, and i am proud and blessed to find someone who is as amazing as he is!!

Thank you!
We don't believe in roles People don't have to fit into boxes. One of the things I keep saying over and over on this board when I see women post they are waiting for him to propose, is why not do it yourself? Men like romantic gestures, too
I knew it was coming from a mile away! A little backstory: around September of 2017 he told me he told his mom something that made her cry, but wouldn't tell me what it was. Then he said he was nervous to tell his dad something because sometimes his dad takes "good news" the wrong way. Then he pulled his dad outside to tell him something I wasn't allowed to hear. His sister, Katie, pulled me into a jewelry store to look at Disney engagement rings. This last New Year's he told me he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me and he plans to make that permanent very soon. Katie kept asking what my ring preferences were. He kept saying I HAVE to go to Scotland (trip his family planned and invited me to). Katie kept telling Scarlett (his mom) to shut up when she starts to talk about what they had planned for Scotland. Greg (his dad) made a comment while we were in the airport that I should be practicing making decisions and then winked at me. He wouldn't let me look in his backpack (very unusual for him). One day while we were in Scotland, he kept freaking out about the next day ("It has to be perfect!"). He kept saying I was going to remember this trip for the rest of my life. And he asked if I thought I could grow old with him. The night before he planned to do it, I was texting my best friends because I was freaking out ("I'm only 23!" "This is the longest relationship I've ever been in!" "Am I ready??"). I tried to keep it secret that I knew, but he had to use my phone for something and found the messages. And I'm kind of glad he did because that gave us a chance to talk about it and calm each others nerves. The next day, nothing went according to plan and we didn't even get to the Isle we wanted to go to due to fog. He ended up doing it a few days later in the Isle of Skye (absolutely gorgeous part of Scotland, highly recommended). The day he actually did it was perfect. It was just the two of us that day, exploring the Isle. We came across a beautiful waterfall on our way to a castle that neither of us knew was there. We pulled over on the side of the road and go to check it out but he said he wanted to grab his hat and went back to the car (I had my suspicions then). He got back to where I was and we hiked up to the middle of the waterfall to a large platform. I was taking a picture of the waterfall and when I turned around he was down on one knee.
I knew it was coming because he wanted to be traditional and ask my dad for my hand in marriage. He surprised me with a mini vacation to south Carolina... at 1st I just thought it was so he can meet my dad and half of his side of the family but no.. the day before we left him and my dad went crabbing and he asked him
