Surprise proposal or expected?

I was shocked that it was actually happening after so many years. We had talked about it and I knew it was in our future but I didn't know when. I didn't even know my FH had my ring for almost a year before he proposed.

I knew it was coming at some point, but not because he told me, just because i am nosy! lol But it was a surprise when he did it!

Complete and total surprise! I was dating the "I am never getting married guy"

Completely shocked, we had never discussed getting married. He was so serious I thought he was breaking up with me!!

We had talked about it, and were planning to start looking for rings in the next few months, but apparently he already had it, so I was completely surprised!

Knew it was coming. Lol. I'm one nosy lady. 😂

Both. I expected him to ask me after he finished his Masters degree in Dec. he surprised me by asking me in Oct. he even said it was supposed to be my birthday present (which is late December) put the day was to perfect to not do yet then when we were out on the hike. He ring was a total surprise. I guessed he had one (cause his son lets secrets slip) but didn’t know anything about it.

I actually overheard him telling someone else about it, and found out what he was planning. I had to tell him that I heard though, and his plans changed for a different reason anyway.

Then, we went on vacation a couple months later, and we had dinner reservations for later in the week, so I guessed that was when he was planning to propose. However, we had a few things happen early in the week that led to him asking me sooner than he planned.

So, the moment itself was a surprise, but I knew it was coming soon.

I knew it was coming, because I had to get sized for the ring again. I thought maybe he was planning it for our anniversary. Then he started to make a big deal about a special dinner for his birthday and it kind of clicked. I got off work super early, and he kept insisting dinner was at a very specific time. It was cute he thought he surprised me, I kept giggling and said "oh honey, I'm wearing lipstick this was not a surprise". We both had a laugh over how many clues he had left but hadn't realized.

I knew it was coming cos we did talk alot about the future and he asked my parents permission to marry me. Most people from my country marry without a proposal so I thought we were following suit. So he actually proposing with a ring and setting it all up doing the decor himself
( especially being that he seems to lack romantic ideas lol) I was really surprised and super excited.

It was expected and surprising at the same time! Earlier in the year (Jan/Feb) we had talked about engagement. He said he loves me so much and it would be happening soon. We left it at that, I did not pick out a ring or anything, and he proposed on May 25th during the last night of our Las Vegas vacation!!!

Shocked! It was our 4-year anniversary and didn't expect it. I knew he'd be doing it soon but not that exact day! So glad he did though.

We had talked about it so I knew it was going to happen at some point. When he proposed on vacation it was a complete and total surprise. I had no idea he had a ring for 3 months already and was just waiting for the perfect time and place.

We spoke about getting engaged and designed the ring together so I knew it was coming. Then we went on vacation and I knew it would happen sometime during the vacation just not when or how so it was still a surprise when he actually proposed.

It was a surprise for me! I had told him that if he ever felt like he was ready to take that step, that I would say yes... but I was thinking it would maybe take a few more years. His family joked that he wouldn’t get married until he was 40! But after dating for 4 years, he proposed on Christmas Eve during a game of Pictionary with his family (he drew out an engagement ring on the board!). I just remember crying and asking “is this real life?!” 😂 it was perfect!
