Surprise first dance idea!

Sarah, on August 12, 2019 at 8:29 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 9
It's still really early in my wedding planning process, but I've had the greatest idea for a first dance....
Get ready...
Wait for it...
I Would Do Anything for Love by Meatloaf.
Its perfect, guys. It starts out slow and romantic and builds to a powerful rock ballad about how he would do anything for love except leave her. I could combine close slow dancing with some fun rockabilly dancing and maybe a few fun powerslides and some lipsincing at the end. It would be sweet, exciting, and an opportunity for our personalities to come through. Plus it'll get everyone excited to dance with us!

You should totally go for it Smiley smile

Do you think your FS will be on board?

I talked to him about it last night! He thought I was joking at first but after selling it for a bit I think he might be down! The main issue is neither of us know how to dance, but we have over a year still to learn 😅

Love it! My tribe is walking down the aisle to a string quartet version of it.

As for learning how to dance....we had the same problem. Neither of us knew how to. We looked into dance lessons and omg they were pricey. So we started to look at Youtube dance tutorials and began with simple steps. Then, so that we wouldn't get sick of our song choice, we looked up the speed of the song we are dancing to and are using a metronome when we practice. We started at about 8 months out and are now (3months away) confident enough to get through 2.5 minutes of the song.

I will say this has been one of my favorites wedding preparations.

    Good Luck!!

I thought the only thing Meatloaf wouldn't do for her was something entirely different ... lol

Would you consider doing dance lessons with your FS?

I absolutely LOVE this idea. I'm not going to lie, I totally thought about playing this at our reception but as a first dance it is epic!

That’s what Meatloaf won’t do!? I could never figure that out but man it’s a good song.
