Supportive strapless bras? Do they exist?

So the woman who's doing my alterations wants me to give her a strapless bra so she can sew the cups into my dress (the dress has a deep open back). The problem is finding a strapless bra that doesn't suck. I'm not huge but not small either (34C) and I've been told by my doctor that they're "dense"...

Any thoughts? What's worked for you?

Beth i am in the same situation, i think that i am going to try to get a bustier altered. maybe add straps if i need to (my dress is keyhole so you wouldn't see them)

I just bought one over the weekend from Victoria's Secret...cannot remember what the name of the bra was, but I was told it was rather new. If work didn't have VS blocked I would try to get a photo or link for you.

I'm also going to try to go sans bra...when I tried on my dress the first time I wasn't wearing one and everything stayed in place. I don't see why that wouldn't be the same case when the dress is altered to fit better.....(not wearing one in the photos below)

The bras from Lane Bryant work for my DDDs. I have to order them offline though cause they never have them in store because I'm a 36.

I got my strapless bra from Lane Bryant today. it is AMAZING. I never thought I would love a strapless bra so much. it is even more comfortable than my regular bras!!!
