FH & I received a wedding invite from one of his friends, they are a recently matched couple, maybe dating a year so we were a little surprised & super excited to receive a wedding invite for this June.

That was until we opened the invitation: The wedding is at sunrise on the beach here at the Jersey Shore, the reception is a breakfast reception (I am all about breakfast!), all done by 9 am. So my question to you all - would you attend knowing you need to get up and get to the beach by 5:15 AM?? I am leaning towards no.

I'm a Midwestern girl and have only been to the beach twice in my life. Both times I got up early to see a sunrise despite not being an early riser, so you bet I would attend!! I think it will be absolutely gorgeous!!

Totally go! This is unique and fun AND then you have the rest of the day to hang at the beach!

I would go for the sake of whoever it is, if they're close enough that I'd ordinarily make the effort to attend their wedding...but I wouldn't be thrilled about it. I like breakfast but this doesn't sound like it'd be much fun, unless maybe a bunch of us stayed up all night and partied first, then ate breakfast and went to sleep after.

Oh man - that's brutal!! I'd definitely still attend if you are a close friend, but if it weren't as close... maybe not! Smiley winking

I bet they'll get some amazing sunrise pictures! ☀️

We have decided to attend! I will post pics once the wedding is over. We live at the beach so honestly this was not an OMG we get to go to the beach decision, it was more of a seriously you want me to get up that early? We are def not thrilled about it but who knows it may end up being the best wedding ever?

Never heard of a sunrise ceremony, but it sounds really romantic! And a good excuse for mimosas and a nap later in the day!

I’d have to agree. That’s kinda asking a lot, of their guest.

I'd go, how pretty the sunrise on the beach is it on the weekend?

This sounds super cool! I would be a hard yes, DH on the other hand is not a morning person so unless it was a very close friend I can see him reluctant to attend.

Wow, that's a hard one. I always considered myself a sunrise person over sunsets because they are more rare (because I don't get up that early like ever) and that does sound very romantic. It sounds like it was something special to this couple and it also sounds like a "no fuss, just us" type wedding. I feel like they would understand if people opted out of going due to the early start time, but I would try to attend bc I feel like it will be super special.

If it was a really good, really close, really dear friend of mine or FH... YES! I'd make sure to stay in the same hotel, or as close as possible. Have plenty of coffee and fully charge phone for the amazing view. Then, go home and take a nap Smiley smile

First of all the wedding sounds so romantic and unique and beautiful. I would go just based on that. Secondly, if they only invited around 35 people and you got an invite, you must be pretty good friends with the people. I wouldn’t question it on that basis either.
And finally. I’m a huge breakfast person. So that’s three yes’s from me.

I definitely find that a little odd, but I wouldn’t mind having the whole day to myself after! Could be fun!
