FH & I received a wedding invite from one of his friends, they are a recently matched couple, maybe dating a year so we were a little surprised & super excited to receive a wedding invite for this June.

That was until we opened the invitation: The wedding is at sunrise on the beach here at the Jersey Shore, the reception is a breakfast reception (I am all about breakfast!), all done by 9 am. So my question to you all - would you attend knowing you need to get up and get to the beach by 5:15 AM?? I am leaning towards no.

I would go if it fits your schedule. H & I are up at that time anyway for work and living on the beach nothing beats a beach sunrise. If they are friends and they actually mean something to you, go. If they aren't worth waking up a couple hours earlier for, then don't go.

It's early yes, but if it's too early for you you can always take a nap when its over!

If it was a good friend, I totally would. It sounds unique and fun! But if it was someone I didn't know as well, I'm not so sure.

That's pretty cool! I would go. I'd probably sleep the early evening before and then wake up by like midnight or 1am to get ready and be awake a while before going.

Only if we really loved them! I would for sure stay in a hotel as close to the ceremony as I could. That's insane, I imagine it's saving a ton of money but I think a lot of people won't come.

From what I have heard they invited only 35 people and most are local. I am pretty sure they know they are taking a chance with this out of the box wedding. They are both huge beach people and she loves sunrise/sunset, I am interested in seeing how it plays out. I am sure it will be lovely.

    Which beach Smiley smile
it sounds cool. Different. I’d definitely get a hotel nearby though if you aren’t within a short drive. It would be a pain to have to get up extra early to drive

For a good friend yes. I am sooo not a morning person lol. I can't imagine getting ready as a bride that early.

I love people like you for opening up parking spots for night owls like me!

And OP, I know you've already been convinced, but I hate mornings and I think this idea is so sweet. I'd honestly probably stay up all night then sleep the next day. Definitely go! And then tell us about it Smiley smile

This sounds so peaceful and beautiful. And if they’ve only invited 35 they must really want you there. Totally worth it. And then you have a good excuse to go home and nap the day away.

It sounds breathtakingly romantic. I would totally be there, and I hate mornings. Like, a pot of coffee later still loathe them, type thing.

I can't imagine how early the bride must be getting up to get her hair and makeup done. For that matter, I can't imagine a vendor agreeing to do hair and makeup that early!

I don't know. I guess I would go. I would sleep afterwards. But I think it would be weird as the bride and groom to have the whole day open, after just getting married, then no plans?

Really, the question on whether or not to attend a wedding should be based on your relationship/closeness to these people, and whether you want to share their joy and support them.

So, no matter what time it is (I'm a morning person, so this sounds lovely to me!), you attend if you wish to support them.

If nothing else, it would sure be an interesting wedding.

I think that’s a little inconsiderate of the couple to plan a wedding life that. It’s so early that you might as well just stay up all night partying and then show up. I’d pass unless they were my best friends in the world, but even then I’d first try to talk them out of it.

I would definitely consider going because it's very different and seems really romantic. If it's over by 9, you can always come home and have a lazy Saturday and crawl back into bed for a nap. I'd especially try to go if I considered this person a good friend. I'm used to waking up at 6/7 for work, so it wouldn't be too bad for me.

If it were an all morning/ all day thing, I might skip.
