sunflower bouquet... will it match?

Studio-g-occasions: I love your idea but although it's sunflowers and they're usually not romantic, I'm really trying to pull off a romantic feel. The tables are ivory picnic tables but down the center there will be 10-20 votive candles, and the floral arrangements will be 5" bark vase with daisies, 10" bark vase with a navy pillar, 15" sunflower bark vase and back down to the 10" and then the 5"... So I'm hoping it will be elegant.

Although my shoes are hot pink, they're hardly noticeable. So I think if I did hot pink daisies, it would bring down the elegant touch I'm looking for... that's why I think the soft roses are perfect. IDK I'm caught between a rock and a hard place. My FH wants country and sunflowers with wood and COUNTRY, he even wanted my girls to wear cowboy boots (that's a NO)... I want something soft, romantic, whimsical... Whats a girl to do??

Eh i think everything clashes. if you really want to use the sunflowers then use a lot of candles and lace to make it more romantic looking. i say stick with the light pinks and cream colors. also the dress, shoes, grooms attire and brides maid dress aren't romantic whimsical at all.

I agree with the grooms attire and girls dresses but we were going to do peacocks and it was gonna be chic and modern, but my fiancé hates it... After they got their dresses... so we're stuck with those. for the men's clothes, they refuse to wear tuxes... they're considering day vests, to class it up a little bit.

The inspirational board you showed is more modern chic maybe even prepy

Ts really hard to describe the whole wedding on an inspirational board... but he wants country and I want romantic... it's hard to combine the 2... he insists on sunflowers, bark vases and no tux...

I want roses, candles, and I don't mind the wooden accents. Where we live, it's known for the woods and hills...

Do you like lace? i would do mason jars with lace wrapped around sunflowers and wild flowers and a lot of candles

I'm not a fan of the mason jars, I feel like everyone does them for country weddings. I don't mind lace, I tried a few lace dresses on actually, and I can probably put lace around the votive holders.

You could always find ivory gerbera daisies to put with the sunflowers, being they should be about the same size as each other, and they won't throw each other off, or you could find something like the roses that are ivory instead of pink the kind of go with the sunflowers and add navy ribbon, or leave just the cloth stuff to be navy and everything else be the Ivory and the sunflower yellow?

Well as it stands right now, the only "yellow" are the sunflowers and petals for the aisle...

Navy: bridesmaid dress, men's ties, pillars for 10" bark vases, and pomander balls for the rafters

Ivory: picnic tables, votive candles, gown, cake.

But how would the sunflowers tie in with that wedding??

I can't get my navy & pink pics to post, but it was hot pink & navy with purple accents - romantic & ecclectic. You have a culture clash going on,for sure. I would fluff up the sunflowers with maybe pink stocks, which are less formal feeling than roses but are still soft and romatic. Or use pink garden roses which also fit the look (both country and romantic) Freesia might be nice & it come in a wide range of colors. Queen Anne's lace goes a long way to fluffing up a bouquet & has a wildflower-y look. I do love the bark vases (just bought one myself) but to romanticize it, keep the sunflower count lower. Plus - he certainly is going to wear a sunflower bout they're just too big.

I thought a mini sunflower bout would be okay... I found a few on Etsy I liked and I'm going to try and mimic.

I think your all colors are fantastic................And what I believe is that its your day so you can do whatever makes you feel good and happy...............Sunflower theme is something WOW to me...............Me too wanted this for my wedding...................Don’t think too much on it and just go for it.............

This is your day, who says it can't be done?! Enjoy it! I've seen girls get married in Van's and Converse tennis shoes!! Totally their personality!! Just do it! And be happy! ;o)

Although this is a week old... it's still an old post haha... my FH told me to change the wedding colors (fr the 3rd time) lol but thank you for your inputs lol... we're doing blush champagne and silver accents...

I actually love it

I absolutely love Sunflowers! I think they go well with navy, since they're semi complementary collors. Maybe if you have a pink that's almost peach, that would make it pop more, since orange and blue are complementary colors and side by side go very well together.

Hey O - I'm diggin your weddig design and I understand how hard blending 2 distinctly different ideas can be. 1st LOVE, LOVE LOVE your shoes - see if you can find a blue bling stone that you could add to the bow - it'll tie them in 4 you. Went to a wedding not long ago the bride had Converse high top sneakers on - she thought no one would see them but as she was boogie-ing on the dance floor we all got a good glimpse & chuckle out of it. LOL Your centerpieces are super pretty - I'd throw something blue into that mix maybe some hydrangea for country feel or veronica for romantic feel and then an only an accent of pink. I'm not sure about the lace though - I think it might be more vintage feeling than romantic. Candles and mood lighting will give you that romantic flav
