sunflower bouquet... will it match?

Olivia, on September 27, 2011 at 9:26 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 40

So most of you know I am doing a sunflower wedding instead of peacocks (boo)

The wedding is all navy and ivory with sunflowers for the floral aspect...

Will this look alright? Even though it has pink?? I LOVE IT and it's actually making me think twice about hating my FH's decision on doing sunflowers... BUT the girls dresses are bought and they are navy so idk how to make this work... I dont want JUST SUNFLOWERS...

Plus my shoes are pink Smiley smile I love pink, what can I say...

Sorry, but honestly... the yellow, blue, and pink just doesn't work together for me. I think I'd like the last picture as a bouquet, but I don't think so with the navy mixed in.

I have been to a wedding with navy dresses and pink bouquets. I think if you put in the pink bouquet for yourself and have a navy ribbon around it, it'll help bring it "together". I'm a prink freak too so I'd go ahead and do it. I think it'd make for a cute photo to pull in the pink shoes. And keeping the flowers light pink won't scream "look at me I'm totally not part of their wedding colors".

I think that bouquet would work, but use a navy ribbon. Pink and navy are actually very pretty together. However, the pink shoes- please tell me that's an error, because they look completely out of place. I'd do Navy shoes.

Meghan: Nope... Love the pink shoes... They wont really be seen and i figured the wedding is "blue" so I don't need "something blue" soooo in honor of breast cancer and my love for pink, Im doing something pink. Shoes are staying lol

I think it's great, to me navy is a neutral. As long as the colors have the same value they will good.

Well keep in mind ladies, the only place I want the pink roses are on my bouquet... the WEDDING will be navy, ivory and sunflowers... I KNOW if I throw the roses into all the floral arrangements it will be off... Also, I want to be different from my girls' bouquets and besides having it larger, idk what else to do... I can't find any ivory sunflower bouquets lol

I like the bouquet with a little light pink mixed in there. I agree with a few other who said that you should tie it with a navy ribbon. That will bring it all together.

I think pink shoes for you would be ok. I like the idea of bright shoes for a bride. I think it's fun, even if the color is not one of your main colors. I've seen a bride wear blue shoes as her something blue but blue wasn't one of her main colors. It worked.

What if you only used the green centered sunflowers (like the ones that are in your last picture)? I think that you may have an easier time tying everything together without the brown centers of the other types of sunflowers.

Btw, I may be a little biased, but I LOVE navy and yellow together. My colors are navy, yellow, and grey. My BMs are going to wear navy dresses, and will carry yellow flowers (yellow dahlias). So pretty...

My colors are also navy and ivory! I'm still debating about flowers - but I LOVE SUNFLOWERS!

edit: And it might make FH happy, because then our college colors are built in Smiley smile

I would use hot pink not blush-y pink in the bouquet if you want to have pink. (Maybe gerbera daisies)
