Sunday weddings yay or nay?

What are pros and cons of having a Sunday wedding? FH and I found a venue we fell in love with but price for Saturday seems way out of our budget. Has anyone had a Sunday wedding? Has anyone attended a wedding on a Sunday, what were your thoughts?

We're having a Sunday because that's what was available. The only thing we got a better rate on was the dj. Venue was the same.

Mines on a Sunday. I figured it's a great way to save since we are in a limited budget and we have a big family. We're not into partying so It's going to be laid back and over at a decent time.

Never been to a Sunday wedding but I see prices are so much cheaper in comparison to Saturday . FH and I are doing brunch wedding thinking around 11am to 4p so that way our out of town guess can still make their flight and others can still have time to relax before work Monday.

I worked a sunday wedding with a 10pm end time once. i was shocked how many guests stayed and partied right to the end!!! It did have more of a laid back feel, but it was one of my favorite weddings I worked at while I was working in the biz

We had a Sunday December wedding and it was awesome! Since it got dark so early, it felt longer. Everyone has a great time and it didn't impact our turnout!

I've been to 2 Sunday brunch weddings and they were fine. I obvs. didn't ask how many people declined but there seemed to be a decent turnout at both. If it is a place you love I would go for it. Know that not everyone may come or stay really late, but the people you care about will make sure to be there.

We had a Sunday wedding, my sister had a Sunday wedding and I've gone to friends' weddings that have been on a Sunday. But then again, in my circle (Jewish) its common to have a Sunday wedding, since you can't have a wedding on the Sabbath (Saturday).

As for attendance of guests, we had over 100 guests at our wedding. Oh and it was not brunch. Ceremony started at 4pm, followed by cocktails and dinner/dancing. Reception ended at 10pm. (most left by 9:30, but I think the crowd would've left then anyway

We are doing a Sunday. It's a holiday weekend so most people are off, however, we are wrapped up by 930. We are planning on heading back to the hotel bar to continue festivities, but don't expect everyone to come back.

I'm having a Sunday wedding! I really have no problem at all with it, especially because it's saving us a ton of money. The only con would be if you're trying to party all night long.. Not many guest will stay to late on a Sunday

I wasn't a fan. Went to one last summer, didn't really want to drink, didn't dance when we normally would. Left pretty early. Everything was planned as it was a Saturday but just couldn't get into the party feel on a Sunday

We're having a Sunday afternoon wedding. We will be having a cocktail hour and serving dinner but it will not end as late as a traditional evening reception.

@Katrina Rose, I just noticed your date is a 2 days later than mine. I don't know anyone who has Columbus Day off, except bankers. Do you know a lot ppl with it off? That's just odd to me and I'm just curious...

Almost all Jewish weddings are on a Sunday. My first wedding was on a Sunday, and so was my son's. If you do that, you may want to have it end a bit earlier than a Saturday wedding, so local guests can get up for work the next morning. But for out of town guests, it's typically no worse than a Saturday wedding. They just end up taking the Monday instead of the Friday for traveling.

We're having a Sunday evening wedding bc FHs family is Jewish, but we're doing Memorial Day weekend so everyone is off the next day (I mean everyone- we checked), and all the OOT family ok'd it beforehand.

My friend is getting married at 5pm on a Sunday. I had to take Monday off work anyway since it will be in Denver (fh and i live in georgia). however if it was local and I was working the next day, I too might not be able to stay very late. however for a better price and making sure people most important to you can make it---a Sunday wedding is not rare
