Hi! Has anyone done or been to a brunch wedding. If so can you share details and if you enjoyed it? If not what did you not like?

I've never been to one, but as long as the mimosas were flowing, I'd be content!

My mother's second wedding was a brunch. It was nice. The ceremony was on the historic courthouse steps (she's a lawyer so one of her judge friends came and officiated for them) and then we all went to a really nice hotel across the street and ordered whatever we wanted off the brunch menu. Immediate family only, very low-key, very enjoyable.

We attended a brunch wedding about two years ago. The ceremony was short and sweet and started at 11 AM (which was nice because Saturdays are my sleeping in days!). They had a short picture taking time between ceremony and reception (half hour). Brunch was a mix of displays and stations. Some of the displays were mini pastries, fruit, cheese, and cold cuts. They had made to order pasta, made to order omelets, made to order coffees/espressos/lattes/blended smoothies stations, and a pancake/Belgium waffle station. I loved the mix of savory and sweet because I was up early getting ready so I was not looking for a donut. They had a quick first dance and had some nice background music and people just meandered out. The whole afternoon was wrapped up by 2-2:30 PM. The couple did casually let some people know that they would be bar/club hopping that evening and a good number of us met up with them around 10 PM (I needed a nap!) and it was like a whole day of celebrating with them!

We are having an 11:30 am ceremony followed by a brunch reception. We love the idea of brunch (who doesn't love breakfast food?!) plus we have never been to a brunch wedding. In speaking with the various venues we visited it was also cheaper to have a brunch reception. We plan to have an after party, as we only have the venue until 5 pm, at a local hotel.

We had a brunch wedding! The ceremony started at 11:30, cocktail hour started at noon, and the reception started at 1:00 and ended at 4:00. We had a classical guitarist for both the ceremony and reception in lieu of a DJ because a DJ didn't really make sense with the vibe of the party. We had craft beer, wine, and a mimosa bar with orange, pineapple, grapefruit, peach, and black cherry juice options. For food, we had a brunch buffet with an omelet station and a waffle station. The venue was a historic building at a park. We got married in the gardens and used a mix of the gardens and building for our reception. It was so nice and low-key, and we had a fantastic time talking with everyone who were there to celebrate with us.

I'm shamelessly dropping both of my BAMs because I wrote a lot about what went right and what went wrong. It might be helpful!

I love brunch weddings! In my opinion the best part is the food. Brunch food is delicious and also tends to be cheaper than dinner.

Brunch on Sunday is my favorite meal of the week. As long as the wedding isn't too early and there are plenty of savory options (especially bacon), I would be happy as a clam at a brunch wedding. The thing I have seen with brunch weddings that I was not a fan of is when they are more like a continental breakfast (pastries, cereal, and fruit) at a hotel than warm, filling food.

This is so helpful! Thanks everyone! I like the guitarist idea. I think a dj would be a little overwhelming for an afternoon wedding. Any send off suggestions? I love sparklers but I don't think it will work when the sun is still out. What time did everyone start getting ready for an 11;30 ceremony? I would ideally like to do wedding party pictures before ceremony

I worked a photobooth at a Brunch wedding, it was so yummy! They only served mimosas and had all sorts of yum breakfast foods.

I did enjoy them having the first dance and cutting cake. Then they served everyone donuts instead of cake.

Planning on a Sunday Brunch wedding as well. Our DJ is free since he's a friend of FH's, but now I'm second guessing if t would be "too much." I like the guitarist idea but I also would like actual sung songs. If the DJ is playing a majority of just country/classic rock is that okay for a Sunday afternoon?

I'm doing a Sunday brunch too! I'm hiring a jazz trio for the reception, but skipping the send off. I second checking with your venue about send offs.

I've been to a Sunday brunch wedding and we are having a Saturday brunch wedding. Mimosas and bloody marys all the way. In fact our venue does a welcome drink when people arrive and you can choose what you want it to be so ours will be mimosas and bloody marys with mini grilled cheese squares yummm! We are having a DJ since I know my family and friends are going to want to dance regardless of the time of day. Reception ends at 5 and then we will go to the hotel and have an after party at the bar. We are doing a full menu as if it were an evening time wedding though. I figure with an 1130 am ceremony time a lot of people will just have a light breakfast before coming.

@Jenn, I did a bubble send-off. It works really well in the daytime because the bubbles catch the light. You can also skip the send-off if you want. I didn't do a first look, but we did take pictures with our respective wedding parties before the ceremony. I started getting ready at 7:00 a.m. and had plenty of time.

Yes! Absolutely loved it. They had waffles, pancakes, fruits, boiled eggs. It was super cute and fun.
