Sunday Brunch Wedding

Mariah, on September 6, 2019 at 2:02 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 8

Hello everyone! I am planning a Sunday, brunch wedding for the beginning of May. I am thinking of a 1pm cerermony time so brunch would be around 1:45-2pm. Is this entirely too late for brunch as it is what my venue has suggested to me.. Most breakfast places, restaurants, etc. serve breakfast or brunch until 2 or 3. My venues catering menu is as follows: sausage and bacon, eggs, biscuits and gravy with a variety of jellies, honey and butter, some type of breakfast potato and waffles or pancakes.

I’d say brunch is fine at 2, but you need some kind of lunch option to round out your menu. Everything you have listed is breakfast items.

I think this is a little late for a brunch. When I think of brunch being served that late, it is usually on the weekends when people sleep in late, roll out of bed, and go have their first meal of the day at 1 or 2. In your case, people would have already eaten breakfast before the ceremony so by the time it is over they would be ready for lunch. However, in any event, no matter the time you do it, brunch should consist of both breakfast and lunch items so I agree with Sarah that you need lunch items added to your menu. Otherwise, it is just breakfast. Some ideas would include quiche, tea sandwiches, charcuterie trays, fruit, salads and pasta.

We did a Sunday brunch wedding. Our ceremony began at 10:45 followed by the reception. I personally think its a little late because a lot of people probably already ate breakfast, and honestly some people lunch.

Agreed with pp, lunch items should be included as well Smiley smile

I think this is a little late for brunch. I would either move the time up or have some light lunch foods.

We're also having a Sunday brunch wedding. The ceremony starts at 11am with brunch served around 1230 or 1pm. I personally think 2pm is a little late but you can make that work.

I think of brunch more around 11 or so! If it’s that late in the day, it might as well be lunch! 😅

It might be late but I love breakfast food so as a guest I would be stoked. I say do what you want ! Maybe add some things that are more lunch options to mix it up if you can.
