Suits for the guys

Sharyn, on January 7, 2015 at 5:04 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 17

Anyone have any suggestions where to find suits to rent or buy that are reasonably inexpensive?

    I don't know what fits in the realm of reasonable for you but we rented our tuxes from Savvi Formalwear and had a good experience with them. They had a range of options and offer different deals and sales throughout the year.

    Mens Wearhouse usually has good discounts going on for weddings.

    Men's Wearhouse only rented tuxes, no suits, at least when we got married.

    Have all the guys fitted at Macy's to find out their size. Then wait for the one day sale and BUY their suits. We only had the groom and BM, so it was easy, but I bought their $350 suits online during a Macy's one day sale for $89 ea. That didn't include tie, shirt or shoes, but all told it was still under $150 each.

    Suits or Tuxes? We got my FH suit at JCPenny's on black Friday sale, hell of a deal for 3 piece suit and it looks nice too! Actually fits him better than the tux he had to wear at a wedding a few months ago...

    FH got his suit at Macy's. Originally 500 but on sale for 200. JCPenney had some good sales right after Christmas. FBIL got one for 130 there. Not including shirt, tie and shoes, but still, not bad.

    I used to work at men's wearhouse on the tuxedo side. If you want to do suits, don't rent buy. They have so many awesome sales like buy one get one free. As for renting tuxes you are looking at spending at least$100 out so(some places may be less but look at the options they have) also most places have specials if you rent so many tuxes the groom gets his free.

    I had a terrible time trying to find suits at Mens Wearhouse,but we were looking for gray. We ended up buying suits at Jos A Bank and got an AWESOME sale for $135 each suit.

    We are having a hard time finding suits too......I know no one rents out suits and tuxes don't come in the color FH wants. He's gonna have to buy his and he doesn't know where to go because it has to be the perfect color and material.... He's being a Divo!

    FH bought his at Moores (are those in the States?). He got suit, belt, shirt, tie, and pocket square for $506 including tax and alterations. The saleslady gave us 40% off when she heard it was for a wedding. Smiley smile I think on average (from the weddings FH has been in), tuxes run about $200 to rent.

    I used a company called VIP formalwear because they allowed them to rent the suits but I'm not sure if they do business outside of NC. Good luck.

    Check out your outlet malls! We got their 3 piece suits for around $150 at Perry Ellis.

    Don't know if you have them where you are but K&G is ALWAYS having sales on multiple suit purchases and they are all designer and good quality. I might head there for my FH and the boys.

    @FutureMrsPereira- LOL not a DIVO!

    Having trouble with this currently. FH wants a very slim fitted, James Bond suit and my god are those hard to find. He did try on a really nice Michael Kors jacket yesterday at macys but the retail was $650 and they didn't have a fantastic sale. So we will wait. In the mean time we're going to Nordstrom next week to see what they have.

    My husband is also slim fit when it comes to suits. He ended up using his own suit from H&M.
