Suggestions on wedding

Lynne, on October 29, 2022 at 10:23 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 4
My fiance and I started a business, we found out that it is best for taxes if we were married before the end of the year.

We are wanting to get married Thanksgiving weekend. Then have the big celebration in June with family and friends.
What should I wear for this year? I want to save my dress for the June celebration.

I think I was wearing all black when we did ours hahaha. Just signed a license with his siblings before we went out for his friend's birthday. We had a similar situation- get married January 30th and needed to get the license done so that I could get on his insurance before the end of the year so I wasn't stuck without for two weeks. Everyone knows- we just made sure that they also knew that the papers were done early for insurance purposes only, so the real wedding is still going to be our anniversary and the important day.

I say wear whatever you want!! If you want the legal papers to be a big deal, make a big deal of it and wear something fancy. If you want the legal papers to only be the legal papers, it really doesnt matter.

I wore jeans and a tshirt. At least in my case the courthouse signing of the marriage license was really anticlimactic. It took 5 minute, we had no vows, did no kiss, nothing. The judge walked in, walked us through how to sign everything, asked if we wanted to marry each other and that was it. It took longer to get through security lol.

That's exactly what we did a year ago, also health insurance purposes. We don't really even consider ourselves married because we haven't had the wedding. We're coming up on 1 year married and wont even celebrate it.

Yep. My fiancé is actually one who's a little bummed that the date on the license wont be the same as our wedding day- I on the other hand totally forgot that hahaha. Our anniversary is our wedding date. Not the paperwork date.
