Suggestions for Wine Theme?

So I was driving in my car yesterday and thought of a great idea. I had been looking at table number settings and I wanted to do something other than numbers. Some people do places, etc... I am going to have purple in my wedding so I was thinking whats purple.... grapes.... wine! Anyone who knows...

So I was driving in my car yesterday and thought of a great idea. I had been looking at table number settings and I wanted to do something other than numbers. Some people do places, etc... I am going to have purple in my wedding so I was thinking whats purple.... grapes.... wine! Anyone who knows me, knows I used to work for Total Wine. I went to bartending school in college and got my wine certification as well. So I thought wine bottles for vases with grapes around them and mini wine bottles for favors/table name things. I can use grape varietals as table names?!? Fancy ones like Bordeaux, Borolo, Chianti, Montepulciano, Nebiolo, Malbec etc... There are so many french and Italian ones that I can use. I just love wine! Haha, I haven't even started to look at pictures yet but i have seen a few with wine bottles as vases. What do you all think? Any inspiration/suggestions welcome :-) I got so excited I went home and told FH and he was like, um, ok, whatever haha.

    LOVE!!!! Yea I can totally collect bottles from Total Wine after the wine tastings and they do classes as well. I have 443 days LOL. @Vanessa great idea :-) @Liz thanks for the pics!! Vanessa did hers look like the pic? @Ms. A your so handy ;-) @Lindsey thanks! This is great, I'm gonna go crazy saving everything now hahahaha.

    I worked there as a cashier for maybe part time for 10 plus years - long I know but I loved the discount and loved the people there! i used to do the wine bar tastings - it was so much fun! I know you can't go wrong with free wine!!! are you doing anything with wine as your job now?

    NOPE haha. I am a Business Systems Analyst at Chase. But I am a contractor so I have to hop around. I was a bartender for about 3 years and actually did some weddings/private parties for a catering company too. It was so much fun! I worked at a wine bar in the airport as well for almost a year. I needed a more stable job after I graduated college and worked at total wine part time while I was teaching for a little. I taught computers/business and apparently that isn't valued anymore, especially with all the education budget cuts going on. So I had to go back to IT. My contract ends August 10th so I am scurrying to try to get another job. Worst comes to worse I can always go back to bartending :-) Maybe work for a caterer so I can get a discount on MY wedding! LOL. FH actually suggested yesterday to get a job at a hotel so we could get a discount haha. I saw someone who mentioned they did that, but I feel like if I started there and planned a wedding it would be obvious...

    I love your theme!! Corks could be used in all different things. You could make a label with your pics on them and put it on a wine bottle.

    Lol me too - I work in a law field now...crazy!

    omg I would totally try to do that...if you can get a discount why not try??? I wish I worked at a wedding hall so I could get a discount off the place...all of them are all so expensive so every little bit helps !

    bartending is good money but hard work! but might come in handy for the wedding!!

    Haha, I can try, but I do still need to pay bills AND save for house AND wedding haha. I don't know what kind of job I could get, but I am definitely gonna start looking...
