Substitute for Father-Daughter Dance

Jennifer, on January 7, 2013 at 4:52 PM Posted in Planning 0 5

My father has MS and depending on how he feels, I may be rolling him down aisle in the wheelchair. We wanted to do a father-daughter dance, as it is difficult for him to stand for more than a min; we don't think it's possible. I tried googling, but those are all substitutes for an absent father. I want to do something with/for MY father.

The one other thing I saw was a toast, but I was hoping for other suggestions. Anyone?

Welcome to WW, Jennifer! Are you guys musical at all? Perhaps you can sing/play a song together? I think something like that may also be very sweet. I think other brides have asked this before, so I'm sure you'll be able to get some good ideas.

I hope you'll stick around and update that avatar (the rings) so we can remember you better when you need help in the future! This post tells you how to do that and more about the forums: https://www.weddingwire.com/wedding-forums/welcome-to-the-weddingwire-forums-please-read-if-you-are-new/b433c40c1a62b96a.html

Use your imagination....it is very touching to see someone in a wheelchair "dance" and have a good time (if your father is willing).

I agree, dance with him in his wheel chair. I have seen it done many times. I have even seen the bride in a chair next to her grandfather who could barely walk. They just held hands and swayed back and forth.
