Stuck in a Wedding Planning Rut

I feel like I’m stuck in a wedding planning rut. I feel like I’ve recently been buying semi-compulsively (a little at a time) and now whenever I think about planning or buying things I get a little anxious and just avoid looking, shopping, or planning anything. We’ve tried at home Bridesmaids Dresses and tuxedos in the last 2 weeks. Is it normal to feel stuck in the planning process?

From what I’ve read and heard from other brides, yes it is completely normal. Maybe just take some time away from planning so you can get your mojo back 😊

We all need time off sometimes. There’s also times when there’s actually not much to do as far as planning, so you may not be in a rut so much as having some down time. The excitement will come back.

We had a one year engagement. I hit a rut about midway through. We had found a venue (catering included), photographer, DJ and baker, so the big things were out of the way. I tried, but I couldn't bring myself to do anything wedding-related. In hindsight, I'm glad I had that time off. Once we sent out the invites and RSVPs started coming in, the skies opened up!! I couldn't get away from it if I tried LOL. Now I'm 3 days away and completely over it! But that's just my experience. I would say embrace the break! You'll come back to it eventually, hopefully refreshed.

Thanks, that helps. We have a lot of decisions already made, just accruing the money to pay everything off.

I was stuck in a rut for most of our engagement! I couldn't make up my mind about things but now that we are 93 days away I kicked my butt and fiancé's butt into gear. LOL!
