Justin TImberlake - Mirrors

Ed Sheeran - Thinking Outloud

I love the JT song because of a particular part: And I'll tell you, baby, it was easy

Coming back into you once I figured it out, You were right here all along

We were broken up for 6 months and got back together (obviously lol) and I like that it's not a traditional wedding song.

But I like the overall vibe of Ed Sheeran's song and feel it's more wedding like and easier to dance to.

FH doesn't care which I choose. HELP

I selfishly vote for "Mirrors". Ed Sheeran "Thinking out loud" is our first dance song lol

In all seriousness, if the brief breakup was great for you and you're comfortable expressing it go for "Mirrors". It has special meaning to you.

@nenabear it's a great song the fact that we both like both is making things hard we usually don't agree on anything haha

I love the Ed Sheeran song but its been done so many times for first dances. I thought about doing it, but I feel like its less special since everyone is doing it. And as a guest I would probably think it was unoriginal...so I guess the other song?

I vote Mirrors since that has more meaning for you Smiley smile

Have you all really heard Thinking Out Loud as wedding guests? I feel like we have an exaggerated sense of what is "played out" since we hear about each other's weddings on here. But as a guest I haven't heard it.

@alietta that's exactly how I feel i mean I haven't been to a wedding in years but I want the song to have meaning since it's the only dance we're doing, we're not having father/mother dances

I have seen it done in person once. And theres a million first dance videos to thinking out loud online, along with everyone on here who is already dancing to it- that's all why I feel like it is overplayed.

It's over played to the point that there is absolutely no way it could mean something special to the couple. I really cringe where I hear it, I assume the couple has no imagination and just were forced to pick a song.

It's completely over played and I despise the videos of all of the first dances where they copy the video choreography. We just can't help but love the song... It's a serious mental battle.

The first time we started to talk about our first dance, it came on the radio. FH took it as a sign. We started with another song and even went to dance lessons for it, no go. We have listened to HUNDREDS of songs and can't agree on any others but this one. It just keeps coming back.

I love both songs...really, I do. But I am a JT fanatic. Go for the JT song.

In all honesty, I think the Ed Sheeran song is crazy overplayed. I feel like it's the first dance at half the weddings I go to. It's almost becoming a joke with my friends and family where we wait to see if that will be it. It just feels to me (personally) like the couple couldn't come up with anything that represented them so they just went with the most common first dance song. Now, if that song really is THE song for a couple I'm not saying that should stop them from using it, because who really cares what people think, but that is the first thing I think of when I hear that song: overplayed first dance song.

I'd go with Mirrors, maybe play Thinking out Loud randomly during the reception or during dinner

I agree! I didn't see all the videos but figured it must be used a lot since it screams wedding song LOL

I think Ed Sheeran's song is a better choice of the two

    This, a million times this.
