So my sister’s wedding was a Christmas theme and required a TON of diy decorating. What I learned is to compare cost of materials to buying ready to go decor. Sometimes the materials cost more than the completed ones so shopping around and a comparison list is excellent. Also if you go complete diy and set up yourself it’s really helpful to decorate the day before the actual event if you have access. You are likely not going to have time the day of with all the getting ready and quality time with your bridal party.

Sometimes DIY is not as worth it as we think because of the effort and time put into it. it COULD be cheaper though! i think you should also look into what you even want in terms of decor. if you end up wanting something that isn't that much in terms of the amount of decor then it might be ok to just DIY yourself. but i do wanna warn you that factoring in time on the day of to set up yourself is important because it can be a logistical mess.

I love to DIY and love the idea of it, some of the stuff other girls make is amazing but personally we are going with a professional decorator because I don't want to add any more stress to planning a wedding, we had a budget for it, I know it's going to turn out amazing and because they set up, break down and take everything away. You can make the decorations yourself before but you won't have to set them up.

We're getting married at an estate/castle so our venue is beautiful on its own, for everything extra to match the feel of our wedding we're paying a couple thousand $ for the decor. Hope this helps!

I chose to hire people because I didn't want any unnecessary stress on wedding day. If you chose DIY I would definitely hire a coordinator to set up day of so that you and your family can just enjoy the day. We hired a wedding planner for day off coordination at the weddings to make sure all the vendors are where they need to be. My sister did this for her wedding and it was great because we all just got to relax and enjoy her wedding day

Last year a friends' wedding took place and they celebrated it outside a country house they have.

We were helping them decorate it and the truth is that it was great, although it is true that before we had to figure out how to find inspiration.

Luckily, there is a lot of info on the internet and thanks to a wedding decoration articles website , we found everything we needed.

I leave you a photo of how the wedding turned out for us

I have made everything for my upcoming wedding (bouquets, hair pieces, jewelry, all the decorations) except for the food. From my experience, I’ve loved making everything exactly how I want it and I have saved a ton of money! However, my only regret is making my invitations. Paper crafts are not my specialty, but I thought, “how hard can it be?” and made them anyway. OMG they were so much more involved and delicate and time consuming than I anticipated! Point being, focus on what you know you can DIY comfortably and don’t try a brand new craft/project. At this point, I’m ready to throw them in the fire and order some (but I won’t bc I’ve worked too long on them 😂).

We are having our coordinator set up the space for the ceremony & reception (for an additional fee). We’re providing all the decor supplies with inspiration/mock-up pictures and an inventory list. I don’t want the stress of doing it myself or having family members stay behind to pack everything up

I’ve decided to DIY just about everything but I want to hire someone to setup and clean up.. I plan to use some ceremony decor in the reception room so I’ll need it moved over during the cocktail hour.I’m tackling small projects here and there... I wanna get a dry erase board or something to list out all my projects..
