Strapless bra for wedding dress?!

Catherine, on January 15, 2022 at 9:08 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14

Help! I have large and by nature pretty saggy breasts (44DDD). I bought a Misses Kisses bra that came in today and after about an hour and a half of fighting with it, I needed a nap I felt so defeated! What strapless bras worked for you ladies? I have a wedding dress appointment in about a month and wanna have some type of undergarment situation figured out. I am looking for a dress with some straps, but I'd love a strapless bra too. I do not want cups sewn into the dress, I've had that before and it looked awful! Thank you for your suggestions!

Misses Kisses are not designed for larger than an A-B cup. Cups that are sewn to the bodice do not provide lift or support either. because they are designed to only pad the nipples. Boning is an option that the seamstress can add to the dress but you still need cups that lift and support.

Your best bet is tape. You can purchase at boobhold.com or goodlines.com which both have tutorials. That is what they use for models and actresses to keep everything in place regardless of size.

I would go with tape for someone your size. Try that and see if it helps.

My breasts are about the same size as yours and I wore goodlines boob tape when I was a bridesmaid for my cousin’s wedding. I would not recommend wearing them unless you’ve really got the hang of it. It takes FOREVER to take it off, you have to rub yourself with oil to peel it off and I still got blisters on my chest. Just want to warn you about boob tape, be careful!

Misses Kisses have pads that go up to J and H. I just don’t like how it feels and wouldn’t be comfortable. I’ve tried tape and don’t like it unfortunately! But I’ll look into those! Thanks!

I’m not a huge fan of tape but I’ll look at the ones Michelle posted!

I love how you said you needed a nap after fighting with it, lol!!!

I'm a DD so I feel you. A long line strapless bra with side boning works okay but I also find that if I wear a normal strapless bra and then but one of those like strapless bralettes over it, I'm a lot more secure. Odd suggestion to try wearing 2 strapless type bra together but when you got a a lot to handle it's worth a try because you also need to feel mentally like nothing is going to show or fall out.

Any local bridal shop should be able to help you find the undergarments' that will work best for you. I was a bridal consultant for three years and unless you have a backless dress a bustier is probably gonna be your best bet.

Most wedding dresses are designed to be worn without a bra. I am an E cup, and also wanted something, but they just don't sit nicely under the dress, so I will probably not do anything other than put some extra cups in, possibly, to add some oomph.

My advice is to definitely make sure the consultants know this is a concern, and make sure you are happy with the level of support the dress can offer before you buy it. DO NOT rely on them saying 'oh, with the right strapless, with the right convertible bra, with the right tape....'

Because real talk, I personally feel that's just buck passing - and once you have bought the dress it's then on you to find this mythical, magical unicorn of a bra that will offer the level of support/look and feel you'd like.

This is the second time I’ve been married so my solution last time didn’t make me happy! That’s why I want something before I even try on dresses this time!

This is my second time getting married and the solution the first time wasn’t very secure. It was suggested from a wedding shop. So I figured I’d ask here for other ladies who are in/were in my position!

I would try just a normal strapless bra in you size and then get a seemless bandeau strapless bra maybe even a size smaller than it suggests for your size and put it on top. When I did it I was wearing a 40D victorias secret bra and put a maidenform seemless bandeau in size large on top.

So I'm a 40 DDD and the double bra thing has worked for me. I just bought Misses Kisses as well to try it. I would at least try the added strap they provide with the bra and see if that works, Also they provide a free consultation to help. My dress has the cups in it so I just want them to sit a little prettier. TBH with our size, no strapless bra will work like we want them to. I wish you look!
