Stay away from future spouse night before the day?

Just curious (mostly because my brain is figuring out how to get my hair and make up done the day of) but did anyone or is anyone planning to spend the night before the big day away from your future spouse? Just curious.

Then again maybe I am just being overly complicated trying to make the day special as I would have always imagined and I shouldn't. lol

Haha. Do whatever you want! We had a whole big wedding with 115 guests and I had 4 bridesmaids, so I was trying to cut costs wherever I could. I think my getting ready pics look cute even with uncoordinated outfits. But if that's what's important to you, do it!

We were happy to spend the night before together. We were in an Inn, in a 2 bedroom plus sitting area, and 2 baths suite. We left everyone else by about 7:30 and thoroughly enjoyed a quiet evening. Talking, flirting, anticipating the next day. The last thing either of us wanted was to hang out with friends or famiy, which we did earlier in the day, greeting WP and their SO as they arrived, and having lunch out in the town center together. We had no rehearsal or RD. So we had a wedding party only lunch in a restaurant, then all split up with our SO or families. Neither of us is big on surprises, or on pajama parties or getting ready groups. We both come from big families with lots of kids, both lived some in svhool dorms, and were each a few years in the Army. Happiness is a place with privacy, your very own bathroom as a couple ( actually, we used 1 bedroom but both baths.) Cuddling in front of the fireplace, after whirlpool bath together. No friends or family wanted. No surprises. To each her own.

LOL Oh yeah even now with how much this honeymoon will cost I am now trying to cut where I can but I know with a bigger wedding you have to cut costs. Since we are eloping I wanted to splurge where I can. I can say any time I have been a bridesmaid there was never any coordination lol. I saw it once I started planning and figured I would like to get something like that. I do not doubt your getting ready pics were cute too. Smiley smile

I hate being given a robe not my own when in wedding parties. Never wear them. If a bride wants a couple of cute pictures, fine. I have been happier with brides who asked everyone bring a striped tailored shirt and dark leggings, or peasant tops and tiered skirts, or comfy shirtwaists or maxi dresses, all button front or push off the shoulder, or sundresses with haltertops. Or whatever people have in their closets. If you go out hotel room to hotel room, or to a salon or a brunch you are comfy in your own clothes. I have found that I am not the only one who doesn't want my picture taken half dressed in a robe, knowing it will be posted on the internet. So don't feel you need to do robes.

We giggled while working on our “welcome” speech the night before and helpful to go to sleep/wake up together on our big day!

Okay I guess the robe is a bad idea.

We debated it, but then we both decided we can't sleep apart anymore lol. I'll still get up early and go get my makeup started off course, and depending on who decides to come we may just be doing mine lol.

Yeah I decided I am making a bigger thing of this them it needs to be. We're eloping and that's it, nothing special. I am going to cancel with the HMUA I have and find one where I can go to the salon. I am just going to scale back on everything.

We did, and I'm glad we did, because we both got to hang with our parents the night before, and have a nice morning with them, too.

Also, by the time we got to the ceremony, I just wanted to see him! (I *nearly* ran down the aisle.)

I am also generally a night owl, and can't sleep without DH, so my BP messaged me en masse at midnight and yelled at me to go to bed!

I am super superstitious so I will be staying in a hotel the night before even with our now much smaller plan. It's perfect because FH's family is planning to decorate our house as a surprise for me (whoops) and then I can be out of the way for hair/makeup.

Eloping is very special in its own way. Like a delicious secret thing. And not worrying about anything or anyone else, for a change. Doing what you want, when you want. Being finally married!

Thank you I called and they can get me in the studio. Not the plan I wanted of them coming to me but makes it easier logistical wise lol.
