We are planning to start trying in April - June. We are so excited to add to our family!

When did you start trying for a baby ?

How long are you going to wait ?

We'll both be 26 when we get married and we'll probably start trying about 4 or 5 years from then. That's the plan currently. We have so many other things we want to do that would have to be put on hold for a long time if we have kids earlier. But we both definitely want kids.

We aren’t sure about kids either. I’ll be 37 when we get married later this year and he’ll be just shy of 44. I love my career and love traveling the world, and both of those things would have to change if we had kids. I’m not sure I want to make that sacrifice. Some people have called me selfish, but I call it living my life.

Thanks to my fitbit I was able to see that the good time to get pregnant was literally the week after our wedding so we decided to give it a try. We are very fortunate that it pretty much happened the first month of trying and I'm due in July. My husband has wanted kids for at least the past 1.5 years or so, and I was able to get him to hold off until the wedding luckily.

I don’t think your age has much to do with having kids. Just make sure you have your finances in order, my fiancé and I have had 3 miscarriages in 2 years and it almost ruined us (emotionally and financially) make sure you have good insurance for sure! I wish you all the luck! Congrats! ❤️

Psssh. Not selfish at all to know yourself well enough to know something is not for you! I wish you happiness no matter what you choose!

I will be 22 when we get married and he will be almost 25. I have always wanted to have my first (and probably only, might have 2) child when I was 24 or 25. We will probably start trying to get pregnant shortly after I turn 24!

We're probably going to start in 1-2 years. We've been living together for about 5, so well over needing the 'honeymoon/live with each other's pet peeves' point. I do want to recoup some savings; however, and not rush people into buying baby stuff!

Congrats! First time around I wasn’t trying lol I was 19 & dumb but was blessed with a beautiful daughter who is now 8 years old 💕

Second time around was with my FH, we weren’t trying trying, but we weren’t not trying lol. We ended up pregnant but muscarried at 12 weeks. We waited to try again about 6/7 months. Had to try & heal mentally and physically of course. But when we did start trying it took about 4 months and we ended up pregnant with our beautiful baby boy!!! Best part of being pregnant is having a baby by a man that you are in love with and that you want to have a child with!

I know you’ve probably heard it a million times but try to just enjoy each other for a little bit longer!

I’m 26 and FH is 27. We’re high school sweethearts and have been together 10 years. We’ve agreed that we will wait at least two years or so after we’re married until we start. So that’ll put me at about 28/29 😩

We just celebrated our one year wedding anniversary. I'm 42 and he's 45 and we just started the foster-adopt process! He has 2 grown daughters already but I have always wanted to adopt so we'll be looking to adopt a sibling pair from foster care.

Not selfish at all! Selfish would be having a child you're not prepared to emotionally and financially support. I am in the same boat as you - I've never liked kids and have no urge to be a parent. My husband and I enjoy spoiling ourselves silly and having quiet weekends to ourselves.

I do want lots of pets though Smiley smile

I agree with FutureMrsD! We plan on end of 2020 maybe early 2021. I will be either 29 or 30 and FH 33 or 34. Want to be able to save some money after wedding and I have started prenatal vitamins (I’ve been on birth control for such a long time) now as well. If you’re in a good place emotionally/financially (nothing will be perfect as many say) then go for it!

You could always get on them now! I'm on some because I read any woman of child bearing age (who could possibly ever get pregnant) should just be taking folic acid. Plus I take a multi-vitamin every day anyway, so the pre-natal ones aren't much difference!
