Standing or sitting beach ceremony??

FutureMrsNegron, on February 27, 2017 at 4:23 PM Posted in Planning 0 39

Hi everyone! What do y'all think of a beach ceremony standing or sitting? Any thoughts for a 50 ppl ceremony.? I'm considering it but they're charging $1500 for basic set up? Is that what it cost? Help! Thanks & God bless!

Guests should not have to stand at a wedding ceremony. ETA: Clarity

Sitting. Hands down. Never make your guests stand. Remember they're getting there before you and will be waiting around.

You should always provide seating for your guests. It's rude to make them stand, not to mention anyone with any sort of body pain, illness, etc

Your guests shouldn't be standing. Have enough seats for the amount of butts that you invited.

Your guests should have a chair. And standing on sand can be difficult for some people regardless.

I would be upset if I had to stand, especially on sand. I have an ankle deformity which causes me to get extremely uncomfortable after anything more than 10-15 minutes of standing. Many people do not know this about me, so it's possible there are guests of your's that have issues with standing.

ETA: Glad to see you have decided on seats!

Sitting it is! I'm a bit torn because I'd like to do it at the beach however it will set me 2k over my budget. I'm really considering just taking the option to do it at the same place as the reception. It will still be beautiful!! However I Want a beach ceremony. It just comes with a lot of work and making my guest a bit uncomfortable having to travel, pay double parking etc. thank you all so much !!

I would call around and see if you rent the chairs and have the groomsmen set them up the day of the wedding.

Thank you for the post it gave me a idea for my beach wedding.

Don't make your wedding party set up the wedding. It sucks so hard.

Definitely rent chairs or benches. My planner suggested benches and that's what we went with..it worked out perfectly.

So where is your reception in respect to the beach?

At the risk of beating a dead horse, sitting allows all your guests to actually see your ceremony. Benches would definitely be easier to set up and tear down as well. Best wishes!
